Hands down the best donut shop in Pensacola!! I was only here for a few months and I would go out of my way to come here because it's THAT good. So many flavor combinations!!!! They have filled donuts and regular frosted donuts but the toppings were endless! I have to say the banana split donut is my favorite! Also, the owner is so friendly!!! One day he even helped me carry my items out to my car for me, and gave me free donut holes! Super nice and friendly service every time with every employee I met. They also have sugar free coffee syrup flavors and have their own house creamer! Definitely worth the trip and they even opened up a 2nd location!!!! First one is off of E Nine Mile and the other is more towards W Nine Mile rd! Seriously folks... if you like fresh, homemade, awesome donuts.... check this place out!!!!

Edit: Super mature response from the owner. Does not handle constructive criticism well, check. And in regards to the lemon donut hold request, we were there within 20 minutes of requesting. And yes, at 12:30 today there was about 1/3 of the entire case of donuts left and that was it. What would I have to gain by lying about donuts? The owner’s response truly speaks volumes here.
This has been our preferred donut shop for a long time until recently. The last four or five times we’ve visited there has been less than 1/2 the case of donuts. Today we stopped by around 12:30 and there were only 1/3 of the donut case left, and a shop that is open until 6 should surely make more or enough to keep the case mostly stocked through the day, no? The last time we were told they could hold donuts if we called/messaged ahead, so I asked them to hold some lemon cake and lo and behold when we arrived not an hour later they had sold all of them. I think it’s time to move on to one of the many other donut shops that are popping up in town.

Hands down the best customer service with undescribably amazing food. You would be doing yourself an injustice by not giving this slice of greatness a chance!

Having worked in food service sales (bakeries) my mom has been looking for a real donut shop here in FL (originally from Louisiana) and until Maynard's all shops fell flat. Some claimed homemade but after selling product for years you recognize when they are using frozen...NOT Maynard's...you can taste the freshness. Happy to say we will go back for more...especially the cinnamon rolls.

Tried these donuts for the first time yesterday. Got a couple of Boston Cream Donuts, and a Raspberry Filled one. The Boston Cream one was tasty, but too thick and doughy. I could only eat half and threw away the other half. I haven't tried the, Raspberry Filled one yet, but it's as thick as the Boston Cream, so it's probably going to be the same way. I think if they made them normal donut size, they'd be awesome.

2 stars for show. 0 for quality and freshness.
TLDR- crusty, dry, and forgot to fill donuts. This place was made for Instagram. Beautiful view but you’ll be disappointed if you want to eat them.
Our donuts usually look very pretty and the shop is always clean and cute. Only thing is the dough is like a strange flavorless dinner roll. All our donuts today were hard on the outside and too doughy despite the fillings.
Our Boston crèmes had NO filling at all. This is not an exaggeration- they literally forgot to fill them. The gigantic cinnamon roll was super dry even after microwaving it, and one area under the frosting looked burnt.
I have been wanting to love Maynard’s since they opened. I like to support local businesses and go next door to Bon Beans frequently and visit small bakeries all over town. It’s terribly disappointing.
I must say their cake donuts are better, so I get that if my family is going. I much prefer the smaller donut shop Lickin Good Donuts, which has amazing Boudin, Kolaches, and apple fritters as well.

We absolutely loved this place! The staff was friendly. Very sweet and considerate even fixed my coffee just the way I like it! The selection of donuts is huge and it was hard to make a decision but everything was delicious!

Go see Chris and Hilda at Maynard's Donut Shop! Drop whatever you are doing and go get a PB&J donut! The PB&J filled donut takes you back to a time when you played outside all day and drank from the hose. It's delicious, nostalgic and comforting. I tried the Salted Caramel, the donut was cooked perfectly, no burned dough. The salt was perfect just enough to counter the sweet. The Orange Cake is delicious, there is real orange zest in the batter which gives the donut a nice bitter taste with your sweet. The glaze was nicely done and the donut cooked perfectly. The Bavarian Cream and Cream Puff were also excellent. There was a good selection of donuts, lemon filled, raspberry filled, fruity pebble, glazed, maple cinnamon, donut holes but I suspect the Maple Bacon glazed may be a best seller. Easy to find right off ALT Hwy 90. Good parking and the shop is neat and clean. The aroma of fresh baked goodness hits you the moment you enter. Stop here and order the PB&J!!!

Updated due to last two visits please read full review:
Best doughnuts I have had! They were fresh and were unique. They have so many types I cannot list them all. The Hawaiian coffee is also unique and I enjoyed it. I would say that outside of a certain chain coffee company, it is the best coffee in Pensacola.
The atmosphere was inviting and the service was great. This will be somewhere I frequent going forward.
Update 2/22/2020
We went once and love it, hence my original review. We have now went back twice just to find out that they were sold out of doughnuts before 230pm. Not even a single doughnut!
We went by today at 2:28 and found a hand written note on the door that said thanks for buying them out today. My father in law walked in and asked if they had a couple of left overs at least. The guy said, no we are out.
My wife asked why they would not prepare for the Mardi Gras crowd. The guy just said that they ran a few specials and were sold out.
I don’t think we are going to visit again unfortunately. We dive about 25 minutes from the hotel just for these doughnuts just to find, they are all gone and they cannot make more so early in the day. So sad!

My husband and I were really excited to try this place out because the doughnuts looked so good in the pictures! We were both sadly disappointed. The doughnuts we got were dry and kinda wet/mushy on the bottom.
