As others have mentioned...the owner is very friendly and very knowledgeable, providing a wonderful buying experience.

To add on to the experience the coffee is outstanding! I tried the Ethiopian first and it is definitely worth the short trip to the shop (if you're in the area).

The only downside is that you can't have ready made coratados or lattes.. maybe in the future *hint hint

Great customer service and coffee. Try the Early Riser and if you like stuff on the stronger and fuller side try the Midnight Oil. Either way stop by ask all the questions you like and you’ll be treated well. Best coffee around!

Ragged Coffee is a relatively new roaster in the Lutz area.

Larry, one of the owners, spent some time learning the art of roasting at Tampa coffee company King State. He and his wife then moved north where they started roasting under the Ragged name and selling it at local farmers markets. Now they are back in Florida and Ragged has a brick and mortar shop in Lutz.

Ragged has a pretty simple, no frills setup. When you enter you can pretty much see everything in the place. The open concept includes a small coffee tasting station and checkout area to the left. The center of the shop is all coffee. In the front, there is a table with bags of Ragged Coffee. At the time of my visit they had three or four single origin roasts, a couple blends and, I believe, one decaf. Behind this table there are bags of unroasted coffee on pallets. In the back, the roaster itself. Yes, that big beautiful roaster is there for all to see. To the right, Ragged has some merch for sale.

I picked up a bag of their Ethiopian single origin. The 12 ounce bag cost about fourteen dollars which is pretty comparable, if not slightly cheaper, than other independent roasters in the area.

I love the fact that there is a new coffee roaster in the Lutz area with a good product that is affordable. Ragged, I will be back.

We love Ragged Coffee! We buy all our coffee here. Best coffee roasters in Tampa. These guys are great and so friendly and welcoming. From the wonderful aroma of coffee roasting to the great conversations, it's always fun to stop in to resupply our coffee habit.

Super great coffee, it has an awesome flavor, and I love that it’s locally roasted! We tried it at Revelations Cafe, and had to go buy some whole bean to bring home with us! The owner is very nice, and I love supporting a local small business! Definitely will be purchasing more when we run out!

I love freshly roasted beans for my morning coffee and can be very particular. I have been to over 5 different roasters within the area and couldn't find any I wanted to stick with till Ragged. My first purchase was the verity pack where I found my perfect roast, thier Colombia. It's rich and smooth with notes of caramel and chocolate, I never grow tired of it, and it's always fresh with the date of the roast labeled on the back.

The verity pack was a great price and gave me a chance to find the perfect beans for myself. There where other great flavors in it for those who's taste may differ from mine. I highly recommend anyone who likes a good cup of coffee to stop by Ragged and try thier beans.

The owners are so sweet and helpful, and the experience of buying coffee in their simple, warm and inviting store is delightful. Once we tasted the smoothness of Ragged Coffee, we couldn’t go back to our big-name grocery store brand. Drinking our Ragged Coffee is the highlight of our day. We go to bed at night saying “I can’t wait for my coffee in the morning.”
