I am not a coffee expert. I grew up on cafe con leche. I have a basic coffee machine and buy supermarket grounded coffee. I know I do not like weak or watery coffee. Over time, I have acquired a liking to medium roasts with lower acidity and are less bitter. But I upgraded my old coffee maker for one that grinds and brew. I read fresh roasted from small shops would have higher quality selections. I found Pura Bean via Google maps search. I liked the Great reviews.

I came to check out the hype. I bought a cup of Joe, two bags of fresh roasted #14 and Bourbon, and a croissanteggwich.

That sandwich was delicious. Coffee was good. I ground and brewed my first cup of the Bourbon today. I was blown away. Very different from my favorite ground brand. I will never go back to it!!! I did not realize I settled for bland and mediocre. Although the cost is more for fresh roasted, the quality, smell, and taste is worth every sip.

Side note: this place can get busy. Food goes fast. Wait can be longer than you are used to. The staff are wonderful. I saw a few people in the dining area sipping and typing. Great small business that deserves the fanfare I have read. #supportlocal

The ham, egg, cheese, and gouda sandwich is just divine. Coffee is yummy as well. Customer service is also amazing. Just all around great ♥️☕️

The BEST coffee in Jacksonville. I recommend the cold brew, as it doesn’t have the bitterness that other cold brews can have. It’s the only coffee I drink black.

It smelled so good when I walked in. The lady that was working was so nice and patient. I had never been in and went in hungry. I got the brisket wrap and the Ell (vanilla latte with cinnamon and oatmilk). The place was clean and organized. They had art for sale from local artists. I would definitely come back and also recommend this place.

This coffee is mindblowing. I HATE coffee but my friend rolled up with a latte (the Ell) for me and it was MAGIC. And don't get me started on the FOOD! Even more mindblowing. Homemade delicious magic sent from heaven.

"The Dude" was exceptionally delicious! The coffee shop smelled so fresh. The staff was very friendly! I will be coming here weekly to enjoy a nice "Cup of Joe" and support a wonderful local business that makes some of the best coffee I've had!

Good coffee. A little pricey. I had the Deuce and it was exceptional. There caramel latte my wife had was a little bland and lacking flavor. Had the Deuce not been as good I would have rated 3 stars due to the price of the menu.

I did really appreciate the small business aspect and how all of the beans are roasted on site. If supporting local businesses is something that speaks to you then this is a good place to check out.

I've been going to this place for years now and in my humble opinion I think this is the best coffee in Jacksonville. Chris truly cares about the quality of his bean juice, from sourcing unique coffee beans from around the world to his roasting methods on site. It is the only place in town to get a cup of coffee brewed from beans that were roasted within the last few days. It has truly ruined me for literally any other cup of brew anywhere. I buy my beans there regularly and they have excellent breakfast items in a comfortable friendly environment. Take a break from Starbucks and try a cup of real coffee at Pura Bean!
