Met them at the Home show at the Ranch. Liked their eagerness and confidence. After getting a couple more bids, we decided to give them a shot. Took a bit to get a follow up on adding our sidewalk which wasn't a big deal. They called the day before demo, and showed up promptly the day of install. The driveway looks great. The sidewalk is another issue. We had concrete edging that met at three places on the sidewalk. One part of the sidewalk was not touching the border, the next one had a sprinkler head broken even though my husband pointed them out, and the last had the sidewalk kind of curve around it. I see it from the door. I called about the broken head and the rude receptionist told me to read the warranty as that was not covered. I informed her they broke it so it was their problem. My husband fixed it as he had installed it and we didn't want to be without the sprinkler for too many days during hot weather. The rude receptionist called me after the weekend to say they would send another company out to fix it and I told her it was fixed. No great response. My husband is also not pleased with the amount of concrete water that was poured into our decorative rock. Some of our flagstone will have to be turned over. I really like the guys who are running the company, but need more oversight.
THE GOOD: A Concrete did an efficient job of pouring a large garage and 3/4 of an adjoining barn. Garage door fits nicely on the surface and the job looks good. It is well done. The owner personally came out on a Saturday to make sure the surface was properly prepared for electrical grounding. The bid was $2K less than my other bid. I did not have to wait long between agreeing on the job and the start of the job.
THE BAD: Half of the barn concrete was supposed to be "broom finish" to give it some texture for horses to walk on. Even though the owner himself suggested it, and even though it was in writing, the crew chief did not mention the broom finish to his crew. It's likely that the crew chief did not even thoroughly read the work order. Ultimately, it does not matter. It shows poor communication.
Shortly before they were about to leave, my wife came out to look at the job and noticed that the certain area was NOT rough. They did not even have brooms, so we quickly gave them our brooms. Fortunately, they were able to add some texture before it was totally dried. The worker said, "That's too bad. It would have looked a lot nicer if we had known." Yep. The owner, to his credit, did apologize.
THE LAZY: On day two, two guys showed up without warning to take away the two-by-fours. I have horses in that barn and they were going to use extremely loud power tools. That was THEIR assessment of the volume. I had to move my horses prior to them starting work. What if I had not been there? My horses would have been freaked out. It was pure luck that I was home. How about a simple sentence: "We'll be back tomorrow with loud power tools, by the way." Again, over communicating is a good thing. They also did not even mention that they were going to take away the two by fours. I thought I was going to have to do it. Oh, and they left two huge concrete encrusted two by fours behind my barn.
MORE LAZY: It's a small thing, but it must be mentioned. We had the pleasure of picking up about 10 cigarette butts. Not a big deal, but come on now. Grab a coke can and use it as an ash tray. Problem solved. Concrete water is now solid in the dirt behind my barn. That's not a big deal, and I realize that some of that can't be avoided. I'll probably end up breaking it up with a pick axe.
A Concrete Inc. poured our decking around our pool. They had the best pricing around and fit us into their busy summer schedule. We are very impressed at the responsiveness, the workers work ethic and professionalism, pricing, and finished product! We will recommend this company to other and definitely use them again.
A-concrete did our back patio a couple of years ago and a couple of walkways more recently. On both occasions, the crew arrived on time, worked through the day to get it done and were very professional. We’re very pleased with the quality of our patio and walkways. We’ll always call these guys for our concrete needs!
We had a brand new house built and the builder we were working with did not compact the soil properly so our driveway began heaving. Our builder refused to replace the driveway even though it was still under warranty and very much his responsibility to do so. Justin, the owner of A Concrete, replaced our concrete driveway out of his own pocket when our builder would not. It just goes to show that A Concrete is obviously run by a man of better character and integrity than the builder who built our house.
A Concrete was really easy to work with, the crew was friendly and got the job finished nicely. Everything came out looking nice and they did a good job cleaning up afterwards. I will definitely call again for my next concrete needs.
BEWARE! Justin the owner quoted me $2300 over the phone for a shed foundation and small patio job. I asked him to come out and confirm the bid in person 4 times between emails and phone calls. I sent him professional architecture plans with proper dimensions. I was reassured each time that the $2300 would stand and that " he wanted to keep costs down and had everything he needed from the plans to make a proper estimate." Because a coworker had a good experience with A concrete I went against my better judgement and scheduled the forming of the foundation. Abraham and his crew came out and got to work digging the foundation. They were doing a great job and were part way done with forming the foundation when Mike showed up. Mike apparently is who quotes the jobs. He stated that there is no way they can do the job for $2300 and he was going to pull the crew. He stated "a job like this should cost $6850 but since we are already here we can cut you a deal and do it for $5000." I told him that I have a written contract that was agreed at $2300. He said he wished he was here earlier to bid it because there is no way that he would have quoted that. I told him that I would not pay the $5000. I asked if he had talked to Justin and he said "yes that is who had told him to pull the crew." Mike then told Abraham and his crew to pull out the forms and leave. It's too bad Justin runs a company like this because it looked like Abraham and his crew were going to do a great job. Instead I am left with a mud pit and having to go rebid the project, hopefully with an ethical company.
Armando and his crew were able to turn my crude drawing into a completed driveway, porch, and sidewalk in about 6 hours. It was exactly what I asked them to make. They were efficient and wasted no time. They also arrived a week early (due to a cancellation). I am happy with the results.

However, would I use them again? Yes.

A-Concrete has done a couple of residential jobs for me, and their work was always high quality and reasonably priced. Highly recommend them.
