Moving from Colorado springs, this is what I've been looking for, a local coffee shop. Come here and you will not be disappointed! Inviting atmosphere, excellent attitude from the employees and helpful to answer questions.
Great place to stop at whether you're just passing through or a permanent resident.

I was in town for a work training and someone suggested I try the food and coffee here, was not disappointed! Owner spent time asking what I typically like so he could make relevant coffee recommendations, I had the butter beer latte and it was delicious! As well as their chicken sandwich, you can tell all their ingredients are extremely fresh! If I’m ever back in Craig I will definitely be back 😊

Excellent, well balanced coffee. Staff are very friendly. I hesitate to recommend the cinnamon rolls just to make sure there is one there for me when I go in but, yeah, the cinnamon rolls are the best I've ever had. Sandwiches are excellent as well. Basically can't go wrong with what you order.

We are espresso aficionados and Prodigal Son was a delightful stop on our trip across Colorado. If you are familiar, Prodigal Son uses beans from Huckleberry Coffee in Denver. Huckleberry's espresso roast is on the fruity side of the flavor wheel, but not really citrusy. Prodigal Son knows how to pull a shot of espresso to get those flavors into your cup. So give it a try, you'll be happy. And the Brown Sugar pop tart pairs very well.

Owner is super nice and was so busy. I ordered the matcha latte because I was having a bad day and and it’s one of my favorite drinks. I’ve never seen this particular employee and with the little time I had to run to work and feel better. Order was complete wrong and out of time do head out. I took the drink and left.

I have a passion for coffee. I've tried it from many places as we travel, I like to get great coffee grown and roasted in different places in different ways and experience all the great notes of flavor, and I also like to try just regular plain old lattes from any coffee shop as it's a fast way to gauge truly how good their stuff is, and whether they know what they're doing or not.
The gentleman who is very likely to be serving you, or that you'll see behind the counter or in the kitchen working, is a truly knowledgeable and passionate coffee connoisseur. In a brief conversation with him, he was all too happy (when there weren't other customers in line) to have a pleasant discussion with me about the coffee they sell. He will sell you the same beans they use, describe why they picked the beans they use, and describe in great detail where the notes of flavor come from. He will even help walk you through how to get a good grind consistency (which I know from having a very high end espresso machine and dedicated grinder at home). He knew the right temperature to heat the milk to without scalding it for optimal flavor, and the right amount of BAR's of pressure to extract a good shot of espresso with by getting the right amount of coffee into the portafilter with the right grind size. I can tell he has clearly dedicated the time to getting optimal shots of espresso and has a large knowledge base of the growing and roasting of coffee.
He's also truly passionate about it. The coffee may or may not be for you, you may like to have flavored syrup in your latte, and they're all too happy to oblige. If you want fine coffee, I truly believe you will get it here. Plus, try the PB Mocha, it absolutely blows the doors off of anything else in town. I challenge any coffee shop in the country to be this good. Very good place, and not to dismiss the work they put into their breakfast foods, I do believe they prepare most or everything they sell with concern to their breakfast pastries. If they're reselling anything and not preparing it themselves, they at least picked some premium items that taste great.

I’m not a big picky sandwich guy, but they probably had the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Owner is very friendly…nice family run business. Coffee was definitely good also, it just a bit blown away by how good the sandwiches were.

I travel on road trips around the western states and always looking for good coffee shops. Prodigal Son's is one of the best ones I have ever been to. Craig is lucky to have this place in town. They open at 5:30am which is great if you want an early start. They have unique coffee's and they explained the coffee in an easy way to understand and enjoy. They made me feel very welcome and found out it is family owned. They have one of the best quiche I have never had. I found out the crust and everything is homemade. It is very hard now a days to find great comfort food and healthy food on the road. It is a great place to check your emails, read a book and rest on a road trip and they make you feel like your in your home town. Thank you Prodigal Son for creating the love in your coffee shop. Cheers, Chris

We absolutely love coming to Prodigals. Their coffee is wonderful with lots of alternative milk options - they get a really good roast for their coffee and it makes all the difference. Their new lunch menu is also delicious. They have GF options available most of the time, and are always so accommodating to those of us with food allergies. The atmosphere and staff make the environment the best place in Craig! Thank you so much!
