Good down home cafe, reminded me so much of the diner I grew up with. Pretty busy, so you will wait for your order but it's so worth it. Staff is friendly and it's a nice, homey environment.

This place is amazing. The service is always top notch. Definitely a locals kind of place but of course if your traveling through Alamosa before 1pm. Do stop in. Don't forget to order a cinnamon roll.

Okay. So this place is a slice of real culture - it's virtually teeming with townspeople, all of whom know each other. It's almost like a meeting house for locals. As such, it's a great place to get the flavor of this small southwestern Colorado/New Mexico border town.
That said, and despite the excellent, hard-working servers, the food is really not the best. The coffee was weak and the hashbrowns tasted mainly of vegetable oil. I can't really complain because it's the cheapest restaurant I've ever been to - literally. We ordered 2 full breakfast platters plus two large juices and a coffee, and the check was less than $10!
The local charm touched me, but I left my breakfast untouched - along with a hefty tip - and stopped at Starbucks on my way out of town.

Rolled in on a Sunday at about 10 am to find a decently busy, but not packed restaurant. Despite this, we were able to find an open table right away (which was still dirty and full of plates). After waiting about 15 minutes, the waitress finally came over to take drink orders. Waited another 10 minutes for her to clear the table, after which we waited another 10 minutes to get a menu. After looking over the menu we had to wait another 10 minutes for her to take our order, then what seemed like an eternity for the food to come out. In that time span we watched 6 tables come in, sit down, eat, and leave. When the food FINALLY came out it was mediocre at best. My breakfast burrito was completely forgetful (I think it had bacon in it) and my girlfriends strawberry pancakes were a chewy, soggy mess with whipped cream and canned strawberries (what, can't get fresh berries??) tossed on top. Two hours later we finally received the check and when I expressed my frustrations to management, they told me "Too bad, we've never had anyone complain in the past."
I'm not one to ask for handouts, but in this situation I definitely did not feel like the bill was worth the experience. I asked how they intended to make it right and management's response was, "nothing, pay the bill or we'll call the cops." Really??? This is how you respond to frustrated customers??? Give me a break.
We spent nearly half our morning in the restaurant and what did we get for it? A mediocre breakfast and a restaurant staff unwilling to do ANYTHING to make us feel like coming back.
Here's a pro tip, do yourself a favor and completely skip the Campus Cafe. There's a brand new IHOP down the street, as well as plenty of other breakfast options in town to take care of you.

The waitress put hot buscuit and gravy in front of my kid wich is a year and half then when i told them at the end they needed to be more care full she argued said she put it infront of me when she couldnt of cuz i was cutting up my daughters food soo she could we eat they were very rude and i will never come back

They recently got a citation for not making staff wear masks and letting customers sit around in close proximity no masks in sight. Not a place I would want to get and eat food from especially since the food is not that special anyways. If you want to eat at place that is owned by people with good morals don't go here.

Campus Cafe is always full of customers and that's because it's a good place to have breakfast, lunch and just chill. It's like an old school diner. The cinnamon rolls are HUGE!
