Hi-Lo Café

Staff could not be nicer or more welcoming. Unfortunately the food will make you wish you never met them. Steak and eggs was Top 2 worst I've ever had, and I've had steak and eggs at a very small truckstop in backwoods Mississippi before. Coffee was basically brown water & the orange juice was fresh squeezed, but it felt like it was freshly squeezed out of a wet rag used to clean up someone's orange juice spill. Yuck.

Not many "dining" options in Weed...and that still doesn't justify eating here.

Honestly, we felt like we were the most important people there. Super attentive staff. They were doing great and they were down a cook that day. Still, stellar service and the cook kept up with all the orders.

All food menu is super, mainly is it fresh and cook after you oder. But I don’t have the picture of food :( All the servers are so polite and kind, morning coffee we got on 7am, they are asking for refill also :)

Angels own and work here!! We were supposed to just be passing through, but a big storm decided we would stay. I had mapped the only open restaurant closest and we arrived to what felt like heaven glowing from within. The storm was intense, but we entered and even though close to closing we were welcomed in and cared for. We were even more blessed to find out the food is delicious, the restaurant clean, and the staff reflects heart and pride. Even luckier for us, there is a motel associated with the restaurant that shares the parking lot and they had 2 rooms left! We got one. The next morning we woke to a winter wonderland of around a foot of snow..but to our surprise the restaurant was open and rocking! Part of the staff walked to work in horrid conditions to ensure the town was fed! Seriously, ANGELS!! The had smiles on their faces and took on wave after wave of customers pouring in with no place to go. (Including the staff from another local restaurant that closed for the day, even though 3 of them made it to work) Hats off to these people! We will tell everyone and go out of our way to go back again! Thank you!

Saturday is BUSY at the HI LO...
SO...go with an understanding of that! They are trying to feed alot of people. STAFF IS FRIENDLY and helpful. Food is top notch.

We stopped here on a Saturday morning, really didn't know what to expect. The cafe was not busy, it was clean and inviting. The staff is very friendly and attentive, checking in with us and topping off coffee, water and seeing how we were doing. I had an eggs Benedict and my bride had a biscuit with sausage, egg and gravy. They were great. They came with potatoes, we chose home fries that had garlic, parsely and butter. We are all we could an brought the rest home. If you are passing through Weed on your way up or down 97 or 5, check it out. It's good.

I was pretty excited to try this place after reading some great reviews I knew it was a diner but lots of reviews mentioned the food was great and above average. Let me start by saying the staff was great! The waitress said she was down a cook and waitress but despite that the staff was friendly and outgoing. The food however was so so. The top of the menu said they serve large portions and breakfast served with potatoes or hash browns. I really wanted potatoes so that was great. I ordered pancakes and asked if it came with potatoes and she said no. OK..... Well maybe the top of the menu should specify what breakfast comes with potatoes. The hash browns were pale and slightly undercooked. The pancakes were OK but nothing special. Overall I'd say the food was slightly subpar than IHOP or Dennys. This absolutely could be because of staff shortages but still it was a let down of a visit.

This place was great! We stopped in on our way through Weed and they had some excellent food. I had a burger, nothing fancy, but I'm a simple man and it was very good. I'll definitely be stopping in next time I'm in the area. As an added bonus, they have a really cool sign. I had to get my camera out to get a picture of it.

This is what a Cafe should be. Great staff excellent food, with great portions. My family and I have had Prime rib dinner on Friday's, triple decker sandwiches for lunch, and biscuits and gravy like your grandma makes. Best place that has something for everyone in Weed.

Came in early. My plate was cracked, was given no utensils, I asked for some about 15 minutes before food came out was still not given any until about 15 minutes after my food had already came out. I understand that it was busy but I should not have had to wait for utensils 15 after my food came out. Good was ok, people were friendly.
