My go-to coffee shop! Service is always fast and friendly. I usually pick up a bag of beans and I get a free drink with it! They have a vast selection of light roast whole beans.

Perfect café to sit outside with friends, enjoy a meeting or focus on work. Excellent sandwiches, great coffee and friendly staff.

Excellent sadly overpriced coffee and a filthy place. The tables were old and shabby and nobody cleaned them in the 2 hours we have been there. The bathroom was a mess. I have loved drinking the coffee and even used to buy the whole beans for my coffee machine. I have never attended the original café with roastery before. I used to go to Groundwork coffee in Noho which was always a great experience. After this visit in the original café is will buy another brand in future.

Groundwork is the ultimate Venice neighborhood coffee shop and affords some of the best people watching opportunities. I recommend the Mexican Mocha and the fries egg sandwich. Arrive early to beat the crowd as it can get pretty crowded around brunch time. There is a seating area with additional tables and chairs behind the baristas that is far from intuitive - unless you happen to need to use the restroom and make the inadvertant discovery. It is completely worth it to take the time to sign up for their reward system - as the points rack up quickly. The baristas range from friendly to snotty and the dudes making the coffee rarely smiled or talk to me or acknowledged a thank you - so never really built up much of a rapport with anyone despite multiple visits over the course of a year. I soon learned that is pretty much par for the course in the area of the world. Worth it for the Mexican Mochas and awesome people watching.

Excellent place, if you want to drink delicious coffee, have a work meet, use and charge your computer. Every Groundwork Coffee location are cozy, so definitely will comeback when I get back to LA.

I was brought here by a friend who is local and it's a gem of a find in Venice off the beaten track. This branch has much more of a local and relaxed vibe compared to the coffee shops on Abbott Kinney Boulevard. We really wanted the Venice blend coffee but it had sold out, so I will definitely be back to try it out. The barista was ace, he gave us samples of the daily brew from Uganda, Papua New Guinea and the Witches Brew (the closest to the Venice Blend)
If you love coffee you have to check it out, the vibe was chilled and as I was keen to sit outdoors there are benches or a little sheltered area just outside. The almond milk iced mocha was delicious and I am already craving it back in London. Great coffee spot and I highly recommend it.

Cozy little cafe with good Wi-Fi but no love for pets sadly. Decent prices and pretty good coffee plus it's just off the beaten path so it's not too crowded. Good for a quick snack, afternoon meeting or lunch break.

Love it. Great coffee, tea, and other drinks. As a native of Venice Beach, I came back after many years away, I felt chillin" and right back at home.. Did I mention they roast their own beans, always have.. I learned of "free trade coffee from them umpteen years ago...

Best Almond Latte in Venice! Forget Superba, Forget Blue Bottle, Forget Erewhon, Forget them all! This is where you want to come to pay a decent price for a tasty morning shot of goodness.
