Firefly Coffee House

We walked about 15 minutes in the heat each way to get here and it was worth every step. Never been here before but will return every time I’m in town. I got the tango and cash on a cheddar and jalapeño bagel and all the ingredients tasted fresh and delicious. I didn’t see an iced coffee on the menu but they made a vanilla one for me exactly to my liking and she even spelt my name right! 😂 The staff was rad and there’s not enough good things I can say about my 10 minute visit. GO THERE. You won’t regret it.

Best bagels in town! They make them in house! Better than the Bagelry - true boiled, spongey New York style bagels. I have had true bagels in NYC and these were as good! The coffee's good too & they're open super early, which is perfect for me. Definitely check them out!

One of the more underrated coffee shops in Santa Cruz. It's a small operation off the main drag, so it typically doesn't get to busy. Although I've never gotten breakfast here, the products I see come out of the kitchen look amazing. The coffee is quality also.
If I could make one much needed improvement to the place, I wish they had an ice maker. If you show up after 10, they are usually out of ice. And some days they don't have any at all. But I'm never that upset, because the staff is nice about it.
If you want good coffee or a small breakfast and not have to deal with a crowd, this is a good spot to go. And an added bonus, you can usually find free parking in their lot.
It closes early, so make sure to get there early. Not a coffee shop for night owls.

Oh my gosh I would give it more than five stars if I could.... first of all they make their own Bagels in house and these bagels are like nothing I ever tasted almost like a bagel /biscuit hybrid🤤 they are fluffy but not too fluffy or hard ....so as to solve the problem that you usually have with a bagel breakfast sandwich, in which the bagels are so hard that all the filling squishes out and then you just have a mess on your hands and a bagel with no filling! You won't see that problem here every bite just as good! Plus they're topped with fun things like cheese, onions, jalapenos! To die for !
Oh and their Bagel sandwiches they put cream cheese and chives on with the bagel toppings, like eggs & avocado. the chives and cream cheese making interesting smear with the toppings! My husband thought it was really different and Brilliant; I have had it at one other restaurant location before and always loved it! there's two locations of firefly, we went to both in the past two days because it was that good!

It was ok, I’d say a 3.5 star experience. I got a cappuccino and a bagel with goat cheese and avocado. Prices were average, and food was fine.

Coffee is good to me when I can drink it without sugar and taste the nodes of it, I prefer a dark roast. Aka I’m picky lol. This coffee wasn’t watery, but it didn’t have a well rounded bold taste. It tasted bitter, and basically wasn’t remarkable.

The bagel could have been good, but it was burnt and they were out of avocado (which they told me after I paid). The bacon I got instead was honestly some of the saddest bacon I’ve seen. It was like a single strip that was also burnt.
There was a wait for the bagel, but it wasn’t too bad. Honestly, just don’t like burnt food.

Finally, I found it unprofessional and gross for the worker to touch their phone while preparing my food.

Overall, it was fine but I wasn’t impressed enough to come back. Which is a shame, as it’s the closest cafe to my house.

Great service, great coffee. Absolutely love their breakfast items.

Some menu items are a bit weird.most are interesting. Okay coffee. Great art gallery ability. Lovely employees!

Nice people serving but takes a very long time. Worker touches food without hand protection and also touches money.
