Rudie's Rock Espresso

Had breakfast here the past 2 mornings, and it's been fantastic both times! We've had the burrito, the sandwich (on the everything bagel and the parmesan bagel), the coffee cake, and the monkey bread muffin...all were scrumptious! And, as Food Network has taught me, you eat with your eyes first...and this place delivers on that too! The staff is super perky and friendly, and very helpful. We enjoyed our meals there and will definitely be back!

New owners as of December 2022!! Amazing coffee, yummy food and super cool little shop. This more then any shop in town has that "local little shop" vibe. Their lattes are my favorite plus their egg quiches are pretty perfect.

Great drip coffee. So fresh and flavorful. Also love the fresh baked treats: some you might expect and others a very pleasant surprise. Treat yourself to Rudy's Rock (new management)

Worst burrito I have ever had. they don’t have a kitchen or cook so the barista microwaved 1 piece of soggy bacon and microwaved a couple eggs (so nasty). The burrito was mostly tortilla. not kidding. like they used 3 tortillas because they either could not fold a proper burrito or because to make up for not including potatoes. unmelted cheese. the list of unappetizing qualities goes on and on. The thing was also cold. gave me a stomach ache as well. i shoild have complained or demanded money back but the place is struggling… the coffee wasn’t bad but, how can you mess that part up lol.

What a gem of a place in Morro Bay. The staff is awesome and will let you know about places that the locals go to and are off the beaten path. They bake amazing muffins and breads. Any trip to Morro Bay isn’t complete without a visit here!

PROS
+ Nice windows that make the place feel open and bright
+ Easy menu with a solid selection of beverages and food
+ They also have non-caffeinated beverages in a fridge (juices, La Croix, Canada Dry, etc)
+ Funky, local artwork on the walls (for purchase I believe)
+ Super adorable, bubbly and friendly barista.
+ They also have a back patio/garden which is great when the weather is nice. Lots of lush greenery which makes it feel like a nice getaway from Main St.
+ Decent amount of seating and outlets, great for people working on laptops
+ Strong, reliable, free wifi -- the password changes often so you'll have to reconnect whenever you return.
+ Nice sidewalk seating out front which is great for taking an afternoon coffee/tea break.
+ Music is played at a very nice volume that isn't disruptive to working or conversations. Don't you just hate it when music is blaring at a cafe?

CONS
- Awkard, narrow, and cramped single-stall restroom. But at least it's decently clean and well maintained!
- The patio has two trash bins that were filled to the brim, causing the patio to be swarming with flies.
- Outlets on the patio did not work, so working outside had time constraints on laptops
- The barista was a little spacey (albeit super friendly) and messed up my drink order but I enjoyed my latte regardless of the fact that it wasn't what I ordered. We also asked her for no lids on our drinks (twice), and she also forgot both times. It happens! We're all human. I have those days too!

Great place ! Nice comfy vibe with great friendly customer service. Really clean outdoor spot outback will definitely return next time I pass by.

Good coffee, good food, good service and wonderful seating area back in patio. Loved it.

this place was so cute and the staff was friendly not only was the food amazing it came out super quick 10 out of 10 recommend from us Idahoans!!!

The staff has dirty hands. I literally saw black dirt under the nails. They seemed to be high since they were making coffee very slow and messy. I was waiting for 20 mins in a line of 2 people. They didn't know what kind of beans they use. Coffee tasted like gross, I couldn't drink it at all. I'm not surprised after all I saw.
