Quaint, Hawaiian-themed coffee place in Mission Viejo. I had the Private Reserve, 100% Kona Coffee, which tasted so rich & full of flavor.

My wife had a Decaf Island Latte, with artistic
Hawaiian-design on the top. Kona Loa Coffee has comfortable seating areas inside, typical of Starbucks, or Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, so you can relax and enjoy their hot or cold-brewed coffees in style. They also have a small front patio here, with a few tables, should the inside be full.

1st time visiting this place and I LOVE IT. love the space, the smell of coffee as soon as you walk in, the decor and most of all the food! I tried their Daily brew 10% Kona Coffee and had their Hawaiian Breakfast-- with SPAM of course - it hit the spot! :)

Kona Loa is quickly becoming my go to coffee place in Mission Viejo. The setting is really nice, dim with Hawaiian decor. They are conveniently located off Jeronimo and Alicia, in the shopping center.
I have tried both the Cappuccino and Mocha, and I was very satisfied. I typically like to rate coffee places by their mochas, because I can tell if they use good chocolate. If they do, then I know their quality of beans will be just as good. I will keep visiting and hope to give them a 5 star.

It is both wonderful and dangerous that I work within walking distance. Love the Laura Palmer, love the seasonal specials, and love checking out the plants when I visit!

Rose tea latte and avocado toast with crushed pepper and honey. Yum yum yum.

The place was extremely busy for a Wednesday at 11am, my friend and I kinda had to create our own little seats as it was raining outside. It was raining a little too much for even the Washingtonians we've become that day.

Went here today for the first time
I wasn’t planning on going, but it was close by and I was in a rush for some coffee so I went in not expecting much just an average coffee and to my surprise when I took that first sip it was the best coffee i’ve ever tasted in my life thank you!

My first time here. I will have to think hard if I wanna be back or not. Ordered online today, and picked up in store. They forgot to include their overpriced croissant, but charged me the full amount. My husband went back to get the croissant. They warmed it up, although I didn’t want it warmed. They need to learn how to read and follow instructions. Hey, if I like cold croissant, I like it that way. Don’t warm it up man. Simple. I should add that it looked like a costco croissant that you pay six bucks for 12 pieces. If somebody sells me a 4-dollar croissant, it better be made in-house (which it still could have been, but it just looked and tasted exactly like a Costco croissant).

Next, I ordered a ‘Mango Banana Pineapple Orange Juice’ smoothie which cost 7.75 and that’s overpriced even for Irvine where I live. To make it worse, the smoothie was 99% crushed ice. It was not blended in a Vitamix. They need professional grade blender in their kitchen. Also, nowhere in their menu did it say it was a blended drink. If it did, I wouldn’t order it. It’s a rip off. I could have bought a full mango, banana, orange and pineapple for eight dollars and made a whole lot better smoothie than that. Next time, please take the time to notify the customer that majority of the ‘smoothie’, if I should be even call it a smoothie, is ice chips. My husband said it was worse than a 7-11 slushee.

I want to add that the overpriced chicken sandwich had very little chicken in it. It had browning / yellowing old stale cilantro and crushed pepper Everywhere. The bread was so doughy I had difficulty chewing and swallowing. Felt like 90% bread and 10% other ingredients. Extremely dry and not seasoned at all. Super bland tasting.

Also, I ordered the avocado roasts which had rave reviews (probably written by biased friends and family). I live on avocado toasts, and I’ve never in my life had such a weird tasting avocado toast. It had honey in it which made it sweet. It was not seasoned with salt and pepper whatsoever. Super bland, and on top of it, crushed pepper everywhere that you get free from pizza stores. Burned the hell out of my lips. The toast was hard to bite and chew. SO. HARD. Like I’m biting on a piece of brick.

Like I said, I would have to think hard before I order from them again. A lot of reviewers mentioned they mess up your order. I should’ve listened to them. Overall, I feel like I was ripped off. Really badly. If I want healthy lunch, I will go somewhere else next time.

I really love their food and drinks but unfortunately every time I have gone here they REGULARLY give out the orders and drinks for people who ordered in line after me, I go here because it's right near my work and am often only on a short break, I ordered a cappuccino (BECAUSE it's quick) and people who ordered after me still got their more complicated drinks and food before I received my cappuccino, this happens every time I come here...Disappointing for sure.

Avocado toast here is amazing. That and a coffee is a perfect breakfast treat a few times a month.
