I visited Woodcat a couple of times and had good coffee on both occasions. However, I probably prefer its sister coffee shop Dinosaur Coffee further up Sunset Boulevard for its more open and brighter space.
But it's not the dark-tone, cramped space that bothers me the most, it's the lack of enthusiasm, excitement, and exuberance—the energy I got when I first saw their colorful bean bags at another coffee shop—that dissuaded me from visiting more often. The baristas are friendly but seem tired; the drink menu displays no creativity; even the yellow light from a small table lamp makes me feel sleepy and cancels out the caffeination I am there for.
Anyway, I'm probably biased. Echo Park is full of chic, sunny, modern coffee shops, it for sure can use a neighborhood-y, no-frills place like this.

DELICIOUS coffee :-) the orange mocha was light and sweet with the right amount of citrus. Quite pricey ($8) with non-dairy alternative but it is understandable for the area and quality. I recommend!

My favorite coffee shop in LA. Their lattes can't be beat, and I love the atmosphere here. The baristas are all really great too, y'all are crushing it day-in and day-out. This place quickly became my regular go-to spot. Thanks for keeping all of us caffeinated :)

Great coffee, great options for baked goods and protein bowls, and great pop-ups on certain weekends. The owners really care about the neighborhood and the quality of their food and drinks. If you want to support a neighborhood spot run with care and creativity, come to Woodcat!

Love this place, super friendly people, I just came over here after the barista at Eightfold was so rude to me. Not super rude, just an underlying attitude of she's bothered to even take my drink order. Idk what it had me fuming so bad but it did. Cus it doesn't make sense to not just throw in a TINY EENTSY TEENY bit of extra effort of kindness and smiling attitude so I couldn't help but to vent to the coffee people here and they were laughing and vibed me...at least listened and heard what I had to say about how I can't stand people w/bad attitudes. Coffee is coffee I feel like that...what makes a place different literally is ONLY the customer service and how people treat each other. I've been coming to this place and others in Silverlake for a super long time and always loved the positive loving KIND to EVERYONE...not just to pretty girls...energy. The fact that he listened to me rant on a bit about the other place while laughing makes me love this place forever. Such a breathe of fresh air and keeps my hopes that LA does have good people in it. God Bless this place.

It's a fine place. I didn't notice anything especially interesting but the staff were nice, I liked the chai and their baked goods were GOOD; I strongly recommend all their cookies.
