Good iced coffee, you have to try a lot of different blends to see what you'd like (encourages repeat visits)

Iced Philtered soul
Straight up iced Philtered Soul, is a strong coffee flavor with hints of hazelnuts. 5/5

Iced ether
I really like the heavy deep flavor of a cup of straight up iced ether brew. My favorite on the menu 5/5

House Tesora
Tesora hot coffee, house way, taste like straight butter. I hate it, butter if you are a butter enjoyer then try it? 1/5

Hot creamy jacob's wonderbar
Taste like a good normal cup of hot coffee. 4/5

House ice coffe rose
It tastes like Nigori Sake without alcohol, very surreal but a vibe. 3/5

iced tantalizing Turkish
Very refreshing, very good and bold. 5/5

They brew a new pot/cup for every order while having so many different blends so wait times could sometimes be longer than other coffee stores.

While I like Philz, and often praise their management and history, I had a bad experience today with their customer service. The cashier worker (female, mid 20s, looks Caucasian, was on the morning shift on Sunday 6/7) had a horrible idea of what is customer service.

She was really irritable and snappy, talking loud and fast for no reason. Before I even ordered, she rudely interrupted to announce that I had to wait for 10 minutes because I didn’t use their app to preorder. There was no respect or actual service, as if she was the one paying me.

It is just awful that the service industry has been diluted by workers who are not trained in any course on hospitality or customer management. I have been around the world and this is a peculiar phenomenon to our economy. College undergrads with no experience overtaking the real laborers of the service industry and acting rudely and arrogantly. The initial theory behind this was the savings accrued by management would be passed on to the customer but not when the coffee cup is 180% more expensive than competitors, it is then expected that trained workers would be hired.

Management, ideally, should rebuke such behavior and remind their workers that they have to take their service tasks seriously, and that the customers are neither their friends nor foes, they are...customers.

Otherwise, I really like some of the coffee at Phil’s and the place here on Diablo is generally friendly, where pre-covid it was a nice social spot. Overall, the place is a great addition to the local business community, but needs to hire better workers. Which is why it amounted to a 2 star-rating.

Philz is a great spot! Their Philtered Soul and Rose Iced Latte have been quite habit forming, and I'm looking forward to finally being able to try a kouign amman! I'm very happy Philz is in my work neighborhood.

Coffee as always superb, the gentleman helping me (Barista) absolutely the best gave me samples of other flavors of coffee and an education on their mixture of blends. The lady cashier was also fabulous by providing a sample of Baklava to go with the sample blend. The best blend that Philz has is customer service! Not enough stars in the app for the level of service... Nothing but love for Philz! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Philz Coffee is a great stop for a good, strong cup of coffee and hearty, wholesome snacks. This location, in Downtown Lafayette, is conveniently located, spacious, and well-lit. Great staff to help with the selections.

I had a delicious half-caff Americano, which features perfectly roasted Somalian coffee beans. YUM!

Great coffee shop, however, be aware that the coffee is very strong. More than your typical cup. Usually busy, so only four stars for that.

Had never been to a Philz before. I'm not a coffee drinker so look at things differently than most. They ground beans on-site and had great customer service. If you are a coffee drinker, you'll be especially happy to be there.

I'm a Philz fan and glad to see the company doing well! This new location is light-filled and a good place to socialize or work. The setup is a little confusing for first-time Philz visitors, and the baristas were a little on the quiet side, so I definitely noticed some confused customers. Suggestion: please label your compost and recycle bins so that customers know where to dispose their things!

Far and away, this is the best coffee in the Bay Area. On top of that, the people who work at this location in Lafayette are wonderful. Their customer service and attention to quality are unparalleled. I highly recommend the Philtered Soul. Enjoy!

Great coffee. Has changed my view on coffee establishments and I never go back to Starbucks for their drinks with no coffee flavor and only syrup and sugar. If you like coffee flavor it’s the place.

Gave 2 stars due to watching a shift lead or supervisor named Liz. Female short statue with dark hair in Walnut Creek Calif. While sitting in store overheard this supervisor put down other employees and other stores. She did not help any employees and would watch them and dictate orders. Writing this review as her behavior was unprofessional and appeared intimidating to the employees. I asked an employee for her name.
