Better Buzz Coffee La Jolla

Amazing coffee & drinks!! Such a cute atmosphere! Wonderful location as well.

Really nice and open vibe, staff super friendly and patient...Invited an old friend to meet for her birthday with the lure of lavender matchas! We were both running late, but I arrived an hour early and got to scope out the Buzz. I've visited most of the locations this one is by far the most open and welcoming and although it is 2 blocks from the cove, parking is prime! Every type of customer arrived via walking tour, scooter, baby stroller and my favorite an senior hipster with the newest, cleanest mercedes coupe ever. (he literally hopped out with a polo shirt, tie tucked into his jeans, gucci belt blazer & golf cap and I wanted his autograph for being so damn cool)...

Although I did order the iced matcha with lavender, it just came out regular...still tasty, but I was so busy chatting with K; didn't bother to correct order. My avocado toast was perfection! Granted, this is only my second time ordering but watermelon radish- and at my request they added feta....so delish, took half home with me. Next time I plan to double up on pastries, zucchini walnut muffins & lemon poppy loaf?!? i want!!!

Got the golden milk here. It was fine but should have been warmer!

Recently opened and its booming there, only downside compare to their other stores is that they do not have a drive thru and the morning crowd is heavy but the service is pretty quick. So it balanced itself out. Just leave yourself some time to spare of stopping there.

You NEED to try the Lavender Buzz drink. It is fantastic. Sometimes the employees are heavy handed with the star so ask them to only do 1/4th of a pump if you prefer a little less sweet of a drink (like me). Overall, great staff and good drinks. I highly recommend

Loved this location and the decor! Perfect for an afternoon pick me up coffee and acai bowl. Outdoor seating was nice and spaced out enough but the line and when you wait for your order can kind of get everyone huddling around 1 area. The quality of the drinks and the service was fantastic, but it almost needs a little bit more line control when it's busy, and especially with Covid and proper spacing.

the good....Great location, espresso itself is very good (just get a machiato)

The bad....Long lines, super expensive and barristas are either not well trained or too it's just too mass production. I watched cortados come off the line with cappuccino foam, no latte art, pressumably because they weren't making microfoam. For the price I would hope la Jolla has better. Is it possible to maintain quality with mass production??? Too bad because the roast and the espresso quality is high. Overall, I want my money back.

I tried the orange infused matcha drink but didn't really taste that much different from a normal matcha drink (it was ok) but my friends loved their drinks so I'll definitely give them another try.

Good coffee and pastry and cool open air building at the heart of La Jolla.
