The owner is so friendly and sweet. She moved here recently, I think. Everything is nice and clean without seating area. Perfect to just grab and go. We had a latte and a bag of Bazil and Ethiopia mix, which is rare to see.

Vacationing in Carlsbad (Legoland) and was wondering if there was any decent coffee place around.
Google Maps to the rescue!
Leap is a wonderful coffee shop that roasts their own beans and offer excellent pullover coffee! It’s set in a business park, which I would never have seen just driving by. Got a bag of Malawi to bring back for more enjoyment.

I tried Leap Coffee by accident. As a small business owner, I wanted to be able to help other small businesses. I brought the recommended Sweet Cheeks Espresso beans to give as gifts for my and my husband’s respective businesses to clients/customers. I kept two bags (Sweet Cheeks Espresso Beans and Santa Barbara Lot Beans) for my family. Both of them are excellent and smooth. I use them to make double shot lattes, in which I make every single morning. We also have the Organic Decaf beans , which my husband enjoys in the evenings. I get my beans from the roaster location in Escondido. Thank you Leap Coffee & Brandy for the excellent coffee beans. Buy local!

Incredible espresso.
I was a little confused by the location as the old photos of this place suggest there was once a coffee shop to relax in, but it appears now they have moved to a different building. You walk in to a small office with a checkout counter and an adorable dog, but the owner is quick to greet you and make sure you’re taken care-of.

I stopped by wanting to get a cup of coffee and some beans…. Little did I know how awesome this place is. Thank you for the great Chai, and the coffee. I can’t wait to sign up for a cupping class and learn more about how “Leap” is bridging the gap between the specialty coffee market and the rest. This is truly a top notch establishment!

Absolutely a great price, might need a darker rost but I got to say "Look out Star Bucks there is a new kid on the block!"

Great little hidden gem. Head roaster recommended some Ethiopian beans and the barista made a wonderful iced latte while I wait for my car to be serviced nearby. Glad to find a good roaster close to my house

The coffee is really good, took a while but you can’t rush quality

In October, my family and I had the opportunity to experience Leap Coffee's private cupping and brewing class. The class is taught by Breanna, Leap Coffee's Head Roaster. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about coffee, this was demonstrated during the entire 2 hour session. We learned and followed the journey of the coffee bean from its regions, flavor profiles, roasting temperature and processes, to cupping and tasting various brewing methods. We even had an opportunity to make our own lattes.
Furthermore, due to my caffeine and lactose sensitivities, Breanna was able to accommodate and make me a decaf latte with oat milk and Leap's homemade vanilla bean syrup. So much customization and flexibility!
I highly recommend this experience and really appreciate Breanna's patience during the entire workshop. I really appreciated how she adjusted the class to fit my families needs. Thank you for a wonderful experience!

So good! They make their own syrups! For that I would come back again and again. I've had the iced vanilla latte and the hot chocolate and so far I haven't been disappointed. Staff was nice and patient when I couldn't decide and when I had questions about the food or drinks. Very clean. No outdoor seating, but you can find some seats or couches closer to the back entrance not to far away.
