Lovely coffee atmosphere and delicious French vanilla latte!

Peet’s is my favorite coffee by far.
This particular Peet’s store needs some improvement. Twice now I’ve ordered ground beans and have experience poor results both times. This past order I was shorted 2 oz on a one pound bag. The time before my grind was done incorrectly. Unfortunately, this Peet’s location is a no go for me. I’m bummed.
If you don’t mind a short drive, try the Peet’s in Bressi Ranch. They are my benchmark by which I measure all the other Peet’s.

It's a chain, with a great product but this store is well managed, the people are well trained, the management remembers what you want and even your name if you are a regular. Peet's seems to be the go to spot for the local professionals, with a mix of people on the way to work, well dressed, and some older folk who are reading actual newspapers and are of a "certain age" .... it's pet friendly outside with enough seating, great wireless connections and everything is fresh. The vibe I get from the baristas is that they are into the craft. There's no one that looks like they are just punching a clock, all motivated to deliver and that's refreshing so close to the beach, given the local work ethic. All i see here is flawless execution, great engagement, and lots of return clients in line. It's in a shopping center next to Trader Joe's so expect to see a lot of fit, pretty people here mixed in with professionals and people on the way to/from working out. Since there is so much competition here in Encinitas, they are the go to place on El Camino Real, beating out the other chains in every respect.

They were open when Starbucks dining was closed.
50% more expensive than bucky's.
But, they were open!!
I now go to McDonald's cuz it's 33% cheaper than Starbucks ... and they're open!!! Yea!!!

I want to give Peet's 5 stars, but can't because the manager of the store is an arrogant person whose attitude permeates the execution of employees. Why is it that three employees behind the counter become one when a line forms. Two employees run for the back room, leaving one person to make coffee, grind beans, serve the growing line and generally become the General Manager.
My solution to solve what would normally cause me to buy my coffee beans elsewhere is to shop in the store when two mistakes the manager made are working and understand customers keep the store doors open. The two manager mistakes open the store at sun-up. When I come into the store, one employee immediately waits on me and the second starts grinding my beans.
BTW, the new store's design, in my opinion, continues the anti-customer attitude. The focus of the store is confused, cold and easy to clean...not the intended place people go to enjoy.

Great espresso, atmosphere and pepole - all of these five stars. No organic milk option in this day in age, one star. Honestly because of that, I only come here on the weekend because it's the closest place to my house. Sad, because apart from this Peet's is my favorite.

This coffee is very good.
Nice place

Great tasting coffee, very friendly staff. More "homey" atmosphere than certain rival coffee shops. Matcha green tea latte is SO good!

Get the cold brew with the brown sugar jelly things in it. Sounds weird, thank me later.

Very friendly staff, and service is pretty quick. Chai tea was not great, prefer other major chains to this one. Can't speak to coffee quality though.
