Johnny's Java Cotati

Very disappointed with my experience at this coffee shop. Single use coffee cups is one of the easiest problems to solve for individuals who are comitted to carrying their own cups.
This is something that I try to do.

Imagine my surprise to learn that this particular coffee shop will not allow this! They will not touch your personal mug and insist on preparing the drink in a paper cup and when it is prepared, will then pour it into your personal cup.
This does not eliminate the single use cup and makes their customer very uncomfortable.
I felt as if I was being treated as an oddball for wanting to use my own cup. I will not be coming back to this shop.

Great location, very friendly staff, great coffee and pastries. Worth the stop!

I don't think I've ever been here, but I refuse to support this business now after what I read.

I read a Facebook check in were a paying LOYAL customer came in with a service dog and was harassed. Yelled at her and told her she could not have a dog in here, and she replied saying it was a service dog. They didn't believe her and made her get her papers for the dog, which is illegal. They produced to badger her asking why she has a service dog and made her tell them about her personal medical conditions. Even after all that they told her she isn't welcome there anymore. I can not believe the audacity of some people, especially in the year 2017 in a city so progressive as Cotati. I am not a dog fan myself, but I am all for service animals and their rights. You are legally allowed to have a service animal anywhere in California, and you are legally not even allowed to ask if it is a service animal. Whatever employee terrorized this poor girl needs to be fired, or this company should be shut down. You can not treat people and animals like this.

Best coffee spot in the area. You can tell there is passion at this cute little coffee shop. Thank you!

I've always liked Johnny Javas. I remember when there were several of them spread throughout the . Cotati is the last remaining Johnny Java. Basically put out a business by Starbucks. Keep on hanging on. Best of luck

Wonderful neighborhood coffee place with plenty of room for lingering over a tasty cup of java. Johnny's baked goods are especially good.

I really like the coffee here and the relaxed atmosphere as well as the eclectic surroundings. Service is good and the product is very consistent over the years.

Only one around here. REAL BUMMER. Often worth the 20 drive. White chocolate raspberry mocha made with real white chocolate. You must try!

Has absolutely lovely atmosphere. Also big selection of yummy snacks and pastries and coffee is always top quality
