Eat local and enjoy the flavor. This place is local to the core, and staffed by friendly baristas. My latte was dandy, but the avocado toast was especially good. Pass up the fast food chains and strip malls. The Lucky Llama is worth the couple extra blocks.

One of the only walkable coffee shops if you're coming from the beach, campground, or Linden shopping.
And thankfully they have plenty of plant-based milks for coffee. I ordered hot and iced oatmilk lattes with hazelnut and vanilla flavorings the days I was there. They were ok--not bad but not delicious either. It got the job done. I also wished they had more flavors or unique offerings... Lavender lattes, seasonal flavors, etc. (Which is why I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars.)
While they have lots of plant-based bowl options, they didn't have vegan/plant-based pastries from the look of it.
Their hours are 7-2:30pm daily upon writing this. Their prices were comparable to Starbucks. The service is speedy and friendly. The designs on the coffee are fancy, but because of that, they place your coffee on the pickup bar and you have to put the lid on. And I'm not sure why, but the lids fit awkwardly on the cups. I kept double checking to make sure that it was on all the way.

Everyone has been telling me to try the açaí at this place for a long time. And boy am I glad I did. The fresh fruit and smoothie blend reminded me of açaí I’ve had in Hawaii. I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have chocolate as an add on for the bowl but they added chocolate syrup for me instead. Very tasty. Great ambience. Will become a regular stop on my trips to Carpinteria.

What a great place for your morning coffee! Do not get discouraged If you see the line..they are efficient they move quickly and there is a big tree to give you a shade so the sun is not bitting on you. Great avocado sandwich and not bad oat meal with fresh fruits.

Came here for a quick and easy breakfast while visiting for a wedding. Got a yogurt bowl and matcha latte. Both were really tasty, and were ready pretty quickly. Overall the place has a good atmosphere and isn’t super expensive, highly recommend.

the coffee here is soooo good! I have to say its one of the best I've had. The service was not good. I was in the front waiting for someone to acknowledge me and girls kept talking and having a full conversation almost felt like I was bothering them with my presense. that is the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star. I want to go over more often but I am going to save my hard earn money and spend it elsewhere. I don't want a red carpet but at least pay attention.

Great coffee and breakfast items, pretty good prices too. Nice patio are, all under the biggest living Torrey pine tree, born in 1888. Can't wait to go back!

Delicious food and coffee. We especially loved the acai bowls. Plenty of seating inside and outside. A gravel parking lot is available, but we always found parking on the street.

Lucky Llama is consistently our first stop when going to the beach in Carpinteria. They have a great local blend for their coffee, their chai is authentic but not too sugary. Their açai bowls are fresh. Finally, there is a cute beach atmosphere to the place. The only downside is poor signage and they often close early. Overall, however, a definite part of your beach day.
