I write for a music and coffee blog called Crooners In Coffeeshops, in which I interview local musicians at local coffeeshops. My writeup reflects the positive experience that I encountered at Blue Bottle on our interview date.

It’s always interesting to hear the backstories of your favorite businesses, and the history of Blue Bottle Coffee is no different. Going all the way back to the late 1600s, Austrian emissary Franz George Kolshitsky opened Europe’s first coffee house, The Blue Bottle, in the wake of the expulsion of the Turkish army from Vienna, bringing the joy of coffee to a community faced with turmoil. Hundreds of years later, a coffee-loving freelance musician in Oakland, CA joined the coffee industry by providing guests with fresh roasts at the peak of their flavor (less than forty-eight hours of life). In honor of Kolshitsky’s legacy, Blue Bottle Coffee was born and has since grown into an impressive family of cafes (including the U.S., Japan, and Korea).

Specifically with Blue Bottle Coffee’s Beverly Hills location, you will be treated to spacious, two-story indoor seating complete with inviting warm-tones that make you want to stay there for a few hours enjoying your responsibly sourced brew and a healthy food choice from their menu. There is an air of positivity and community that looms throughout the shop from their smiling baristas to the families, couples, groups of friends, and many more that step through their doors. And don’t worry, if you’re more of a to-go type person, everything can be grabbed in a pinch so you can enjoy your treats on your time.

I ordered a double shot of espresso. That would be 2 ounces of coffee. When I was given my cup there was just under an ounce of coffee in it. I asked the barrister if it was a double shot and he said yes. You can check to see how much an ounce is by looking at a shot glass. The line on the glass is 1 ounce. A double shot would fill a small espresso cup 3/4 full. They also did not pre-warm the cup so by the time I had walked from the counter to the table, the espresso was only warm. The Scone I bought was good. It was a glazed herb scone. It was moist and tasty.
The 2 stars are for charging for a double shot and serving a warm short shot of espresso.

Nice bright cafe. The standards are what you would expect from Blue Bottle - extremely high and consistent. Gorgeous lattes and more. Staff have always been friendly when I've visited.

If you come here ask for Damon. He is so helpful for any newbies and has such a friendly spirit! Also, the coffee is delicious, Damon recommend the winter latte w/oat milk and it was delicious!

Good coffee third wave coffee shop with bright minimalist interior. Very San Francisco(I always say if Apple had a coffee shop it'd look similar to this). They won't grind your espresso beans for you though if you buy a bag of coffee though.

The coffee is better than Stories, the indie bookstore two shops down, but the atmosphere is not.

If you want a hand-crafted single-origin pour over and avocado toast is your, this is a great choice. However, If you want the best espresso in Echo Park walk two-ish blocks farther down to Tierra Mia.

The breakfast croissant is delish, it has a little bit of their homemade green chili sauce that is perfect

Friendly baristas. You get what you pay for: it’s expensive but a fantastic espresso. Great neighborhood vibes.

Cool modern spot with knowledgeable employees and several options. I got a latte and it was delicious. I went during lunch time and there were definitely a bunch of people inside but the wait was under 5 min.

Great coffee. Probably one of the few coffee places in the US that can rival the average European coffee shop.

I like the setting of the tables upstairs, very good ambience to grab a coffee and have good conversation with friends.
