Big Al's at The Beach

WOW. Seriously, I thought I was back in Hawaii! I had the matcha shave ice with ice cream. The ice cream itself would be good enough to eat solo. But the matcha ice.. trust me when I say it is a delicious STRONG matcha green tea taste. It was covered in matcha dust which I’m sure helped. I might go back and get it again before I leave. My only regret was not taking a picture of it!

Very happy we found this place. Not only do they offer Hawaiian style shaved ice, but the new owner is very nice and considerate. Prices are good too, but I must write about the shaved ice. Once you've had shaved ice in Hawaii nothing on the mainland really stacks up. That changed when we found big Al's. Their ice making machine and tools are bought from Hawaii and it is just as light and airy. Don't miss this place if you're headed to Avila Beach, CA.

Went to Big Al's today just for the shave ice. It really does live up to the other reviews I've seen. Truly authentic Hawaiian shave ice (make sure you ask to add ice cream). Lots of flavor options. Great friendly service. I highly recommend it. SHAVE ICE.

An awesome find. Daughter wanted frozen yogurt but we saw a sign for shave ice and decided to head to Big Al's instead. Got two shave ices with ice cream and halpia cream along with an iced vanilla latte. The shave ice reminded us of Hawaii. The vanilla latte was on point. Had a chance to talk with the owners. Very nice and you can tell they really care about their products. Locals and visitors are lucky to have a place like this right near the beach.

What an amazing place for Shaved Ice🍧 in Avila Beach. The staff are amazing. On my second time I tried the Lava Flow Boba. It is awesome.

Small little coffee shop with a great atmosphere and great service and prices. Chatted with the owner Tim, who took our order and made our coffee, you can tell that he enjoys what he does and he was very pleasant. The coffee is all brewed locally and is all organic and tasted great. Will definitely go back whenever I'm at Avila Beach

First time at this place, I absolutely loved it! Had a delicious and humongous shaved ice 🍧 with ice cream in the middle. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely keep going back for more! 😃
