Everything about this restaurant is excellent.

You have to try the biscuit and gravy bowl, my favorite breakfast place in the lake of the pines area.

Very good food and nice staff. It was my second time there and I enjoyed my meal very much. Service was quite slow considering we were 1 of 4 tables. Overall very good and will go back for sure.

We feel so fortunate to have this little gem so close to lop. Great food. Fair prices. Superb service.

Just moved to Lake of the Pines and tried Sunrise Cafe. A+ food and service. My boys had Raul's Monte Cristo and they loved it! Breakfast Burrito is amazing too! This is our new place! Very impressed!

UPDATE: with the cafe now under new management my original review is no longer valid. I'll give it another try.

I had a bad experience there last Friday around 10:00AM while having breakfast with a few friends. I ordered the banana and walnut pancakes and another friend did that too. My friend said that his walnuts tasted rancid and sent his plate back. At first I thought mine tasted ok so I kept eating until half way through when it became obvious that they were bad. It sat in my stomach for hours and I didn't feel like eating lunch until 4:00PM. My bill came to $10.18 and I gave the server $15 expecting to get the change back and to leave part of it as a tip. He never came back with my change as if he was expecting a 50% tip! As I was leaving half an hour later I had to ask for my change back and left a small tip. That's my last visit there. I've eaten there five times and had two bad experiences. The prices have gotten too high also compared to other places in Auburn and Grass Valley.

Great food friendly staff. If you make a phone order or online order for pickup make sure you add about 15 minutes to the time they give you ,or you will be waiting .

I ordered breakfast scramble with fruits instead of regular potatoes. They gave me so many different kinds of fruits with lots of flavor!

Absolutely delicious, made from scratch food, great flavors and excellent service. Breakfasts AND lunches have been tasty and friends and family who have gone with us want to go again when they visit.
