Familia Cafe in Arcata

Love Familia! Favorite cafe in Humboldt! Their seasonal specials are always so creative and delicious. I love that milk options are complementary. Great atmosphere. We love the outdoor tables!

Our family stopped by at the Familia Cafe after our kayaking tour in Big Lagoon. We were a little worried as we walked away from the Arcata Plaza if the coffee shop really exits. Then, the stylish warehouse-like cafe appeared in front of us. There were a few tables and chairs in front of the cafe. My teens had Lavender Honey Latte and I had a latte. Lavender Honey reminded me our visit to Hokkaido's lavender field. Lavender's aroma was soft and not over-powering the coffee. My Latte was the best Latte I had in a while. Definitely the best Latte during this trip. The staff was friendly and kind. I bought Camping Blend to bring back home. They only had a few types of coffee beans by the Humboldt Bay Coffee Co. to buy. The staff recommended I visit the roaster in Eureka which we could not this time. I highly recommend paying a visit to this hidden gem.

10/10! All of the staff are incredibly friendly, and it's so nice to have another neighborhood coffee shop. I just hope more local shops will allow us to use our reusable cups - even Starbucks allows it at this point. Hopefully soon? Thanks for being great, Familia 🙌

Good coffee, amazing friendly staff, and tasty food and treats. One of my favorites place in Humboldt!

This place has amazing energy! Chilaquiles are amazing and all the coffees are top notch, locally roasted. Everything there is the good good. Perfect place for breakfast outside our for a quick pickup.

I have been here twice and both times I brought my dog and they accepted him, which made it easier to stop by on a morning walk. Coffee was great and authentic and they have vegan options for pastries.

Short review: Wonderful. 100% reccomend.

Long Review: I got a turkey and cheddar breakfast sandwich. It comes with garlic aoili and avocado on a seeded bun. It was so flavorful and the avocado seemed super fresh. My hot chocolate was nice too. Everyone was nice and helpful! The building itself is actually really cool, and they have pleasant outdoor seating. I will be returning!

Fantastic new spot in Arcata for coffee and light eats. Great care is put into the espresso preparation and baked goods! Serving Humboldt Bay Roasters coffee and in house pastries. Good service and fair prices. I will be back, I hope it’s always this good, they set the bar high on the first visit…

Nice people, outdoor area, would be nice to have more indoor seating. Interesting flavor combos that could be more refined.

This is my second visit and my last, younger people maybe ok with waiting 40min for a Latte but sadly i can’t do it again. You had two people working the coffee machine with one guy loading the coffee grounds and it was still achieving snail pace.
