Cafe 1217

We arrived at the heart of lunch time and despite the place being crowded and busy, service was attentive and efficient. That was quite a pleasant surprise.

The food is colorful and artistic in it's presentation, the textures are equally superlative. The flavors however, I felt, lagged behind, being more subdued and mundane. This may be more suitable to this place's clientele, whom I have no doubt find this a perfect compliment to their early morning goat yoga session.

All in all, good food, but at the prices they charge, for the portions they serve, is off putting. The help are very enthusiastic pointing out how awesome the food is but I would say that is strictly in context to the fact that it's being served in central Arkansas, not known as a culinary tour de force. I've eaten here several times and I generally feel the same way after each time, that I've done something wrong. It just seems odd to pay this much money in this town for what you get. But there is no doubt in market for it and they do it well and when I have a craving for high-priced vegetables this will be the place where I go. I would expect these kinds of prices in say New York City but it seems odd in the small town that two people can't walk out of that place for lunch for less than $40.

The best patty melt I ever ate!! They use a special beef in it and you can taste the difference, not always on the menu though. Also enjoyed the coconut and caramel pie and the unique Brussels seasoned with orange.

Amazing, delicious selection of a variety of food, including for different dietary needs. They had lots of yummy vegetarian/pescatarian options, and everything was healthy while tasting delicious. I especially loved the power salad!

This is a very popular lunch spot attracting many locals. The ordering is done cafeteria style, but the food is prepared to order. The menu is diverse, and all the offerings looked scrumptious. It has a hip, trendy, eclectic atmosphere with a cozy, lively atmosphere! I loved it!

Delightful flavors and wide variety of selections each day. A little pricey for pick-up-your-order-at-the-counter, but amazing chef-inspired food. As my husband said, “...they could make shoe leather taste good.”

They have a nice, homey atmosphere, and healthy food options (including gluten free). You can mix and match most sandwiches and salads, and their lemonade is very good. However, their lettuce was a little floppy from sitting out for too long. Overall, a good experience.

I have been eating at this place for several years when I visit Hot Springs. I usually order the same thing because I enjoy it so much. This time the salad was full of pieces of white bitter core and had very few pecans. The soup seemed to be missing something...it was okay but certainly not great . A fellow diner said the restaurant had sold since the last time I was there. Don't know if I will try again...

I like Hot Springs. I really like the ponies. I’m sure we have all had that moment when you take a bite of food and ask yourself, “where have you been all of my life?” I did that at a recent luncheon while at Cafe 1217. My entire table did that as well. Fresh, vibrant and delicious food. Healthy options. Generous portions. Cafe 1217 is worth your time. Your tummy will thank you. Exceptional service and outstanding staff. 11/10!

I always love love love Cafe 1217!!! The fresh gourmet lunches are wonderful! Eating the enchiladas feels like I've gleaned fresh from the garden! The ginger juice is always a refreshing delight! Never had a bad meal here! And the desserts are always beautifully enticing!
