This is hands down the best coffee shop in the valley. Not only are they a wonderful, welcoming community gathering spot geared towards all folks, they also have delicious coffee and pastries. I've tried many of their drinks and I've never been disappointed (coffee, tea, and energy drinks). I frequent this coffee shop on the weekends to get some work done, read a book, or relax with some music and tv. It's such a great spot and I couldn't recommend it more. I hope a second location (maybe in the Melrose District?!?) is being considered as almost every time I go, there are always lots of people there - it's rarely empty even as late as their closing time of 10:00.

I came here for a queer meetup event. Everyone was 20-35 and everyone was SO sweet and no one even cared.

I was scared of being made fun of or something because I'm trans, but everyone was ridiculously nice and I met so many kind people. They even gave me and some people I met free tea!

DEFINITELY going back. I've never met so many kind queer people just hanging in one area! No loud music or overstimulating anything, just... kindness and coffee and tea.

The place is beautiful, the attention really is bad.

I bought two coffees and they were cold, They gave it to me boiling and the coffee burned.

I don't recommend it 🙁

Such a friendly environment. From day one Gabe and Jesse have made Brickroad Coffee my go-to coffee shop. They set out a goal to be a part of the community. And they certainly nailed that goal. All the employees are welcoming and do their jobs with a smile.

Coffee is good too and the pastries and just about everything about this place.

This place is great. Owners are fantastic folks. Sitting here now getting some work done and they came around passing free samples of their little croissant pizza snacks to all the patrons in the shop. Just fantastic. Oh, and the coffee is great too!

I love how I feel when I walk into this coffee house. Warm staff and the customers are like family. We need more of these places and less ignorance from idiotic people.

I came here thinking that this would be a friendly, nice coffee shop to buy some items while in the area. NO, IT WASN’T!!! Maybe I just encountered the wrong cashier. There were 3 people in line when I entered, I noticed how the cashier, (white male with freckles or bumps with glasses) greeted each person with a smile on his face and little small talk. When it was my turn, I just got a disappointed look (no smile at all) and I had to say “Hello!” first. His whole demeanor, personality, and attitude changed from previous customers to me!!! It really made me uneasy and uncomfortable, I really wanted to walk out because of the way the cashier made me feel! I DID NOT FEEL WELCOMED AT ALL!!!! The only reason I didn’t leave was because my son really wanted a sweet treat while we were in the plaza at another business next door. ALSO, I DIDN’T GET A, “THANK YOU, HAVE A GOOD DAY” or anything! Because I’m courteous, I did say, “Thank you” anyway. I saw how he treated everyone else before differently than me, didn’t want to think this, but because of his actions, it led me to this determination, it was a “race” issue. When I was up, I even had a smile, so I don’t know any other reason why he treated me differently. But I know now, not to return, actions speaks louder than words!

Great parking, ambience and nice people! Ordered a matcha latte and it’s awesome. 12/10

This is the best place. It is LGBTQIA+ friendly! The staff wear name tags with their pronouns under their names.

Brick road is an awesomely friendly and active LGBTQ+ coffee house with tons of activities that are LGBTQ+ friendly and they materially support the local community (Tempe/East Valley/Phoenix).

My new favorite locally owned coffee place.
