Nice off the beaten path spot! Went to hike and visit the hot springs and got a little sleepy so stopped on my way back. Ordered a mocha and noticed fresh cookies sitting on the stove so I had to get one of those. Both are delicious and rejuvenating. Much tastier than napping on the side of the road :)

Nice small coffee shop to stop by. The carrot cake is tasty. Staff is friendly. Restroom is clean.

So there we were.... On our way to Chena Hot Springs Resort when we realized we were hungry again. We were visiting from Ohio and at this point in our trip, we gave-in to the fact that Alaska (in winter) has a funny way of making you feel like you're always hungry. We found Two Rivers Outpost in our travels and decided to try it out.
I can't say enough about this place and the food. From the second you walk in, it feels like you're entering someone's home. You're greeted with a smile and a simple menu. The prices are noticably less than anywhere else we visited.
The grilled ham and cheese was very good. The best one I had in Alaska. The same goes for the chicken noodle soup. It was hearty and the perfect temperature.
We saw a dog sled team eating inside, while chatting away. We noticed their dogs resting in a pickup truck in the parking lot. The outpost serves as the first or last checkpoint (depending on direction) for the Yukon Quest, which is an international, 1000 miles long, dog sled race.
There are several areas inside where you can sit and relax, or lounge on one of their couches, or even play a board game. They have coloring books and games for the kids.
We left with full stomaches that lasted the entire afternoon.

Really delicious simple snacks on the way to or from Chena hot springs. They even made me an iced coffee in the middle of winter and it was so tasty that I got two back to back.

I'm not in Fairbanks these days but you probably recall me dropping by taking customers the Chena Hot Springs. Call Roy Taxi. Whenever you would have it I would buy all of your carrot cake muffins. I think I was more excited about stopping by your place that I was getting a customer going to Chena Hot Springs. Your Enthusiasm great customer skills plus absolutely awesome food made it always a pleasure to stop by

This place is so cozy, the food is delicious and they've got a marvelous latte! It's definitely our best find on our way back from the Angel Rocks trekking.
