Kids and I had wonderful food, salad and basket combos. however the fish in the fish tacos had gone bad and my aunt got horrible food poisoning from it. such a shame for a place so near the water to have old spoiled fish they're serving on the menu.
Ok, so your point score goes up for crinkle cut fries, they're my fav, so yeah. The staff is so friendly and aware. It's easy to get lost in a place that serves travelers. The local attorneys and judges and city/county staff across the street at Government Plaza can attest to the delicious food and their ability to get you in and out if you are in a hurry. It's also a great place to relax with a cup of coffee and get some work done or surf the web. Everything on the menu is good and the bar is well appointed. Venture off Dauphin Street and settle into some good comfortable eats.
The following review is really only about the service because the food was okay. Not amazing, but OK.
"Clinton" is hands down the worst, most snappiest, sassiest, server I know I've ever had in my whole life. I can't even begin to explain the whole story, but let's just say, we'll NEVER forget this experience for the rest of our entire lives. This was so bad in fact, that the whole dining room was in complete shock as we were all looking around at each other (jaws dropped and confused) as if we had all survived a plane crash together. SO..SO bad that we thought we might be on the show "What Would You Do"?
First of all, three tables got up to leave after Clinton flew by, threw the menus at them, and yelled as loud as he could "They got my old ASS working in here with NO HELP"!!! Then, he proceeded to tell another gentleman that the "Pulled pork sandwich was a lunch item, and that he can't just eat whatever he wants when he wants it!!!!!" He then threw a lunch menu down at him and said "you can look at that menu all you want, but you ain't ordering off of it!!" Not joking....this really happened.
He didn't write down our order, and got everything wrong. He literally ran away from our table in order to try to get to the computer fast enough before he forgot everything. All of our food came out late, and not all at once. My mother in law had to wait about 10 minutes after we got our food until her plate finally arrived. Then, when she went to ask for a sprite, he put up his index finger very VERY sassyilly, and stormed off to continue his rein of terror on this dining room of innocent victims.
If it hadn't been so entertaining to watch this baffling service, I honestly think I'd be more upset. That dinner was for my 35th birthday with my in laws that I haven't seen in a year.
Wonderful place! I work down the street and come in for lunch and drinks on occasion. Super friendly staff and great food. The renovations that the Admiral hotel have undertaken have truly made it a spectacular property. Mary at the bar is super nice! Definitely try this place if you’re in town!
Not a coffee shop in the afternoon. A Google search for a coffee shop and this came up. I did have a wonderful experience but this is how it started dot-dot-dot When I walked in there was no Barista and the woman behind the bar was unable to make a simple latte. But she was friendly and wonderful and Found A co-worker that was able to create a tea latte for me with almond milk at that. They found a way to create a coffee shop feel for me in the afternoon. The setting is beautiful with large windows to watch the city go by. This would be a wonderful cocktail hour setting. I understand they have coffee and Baristas in the morning.
Stayed in the hotel for a few days. I ate here several times and the service was very slow even if there was only 2 other customers in the restaurant. The day before I was supposed to leave I ate a Philly Cheesesteak here and got food poisoning. I ended up having to stay an extra day because I was so sick, which they charged me for!
Waited for thirty minutes before even getting menus and drink orders, thirty more before our food orders, and thirty more over before we left to get lunch somewhere else. Note, the place was not busy while we were there. Will not be returning.
My husband and family ate at this restaurant and the waitress Lafondra delivered excellent customer service , we need more and more employees like her, she went Above and Beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, we will be coming back and requesting her as our waitress. Thanks Lafondra !!

Unexpectedly great food and also friendly staff. Grabbed coffee in the morning and once to avoid going out in the evening rain ordered dinner.

Slow service; greasy fries which has an up charge and it’s overpriced for what it is. Skip this.
