Canary Coffee Bar

We wanted a nice latte to celebrate covid vaccine #2 and found Canary within walking distance of the Wisconsin Center. The shop was clean, has a super cute design, the batista was attentive (and apologized for a delay which was no big deal) and the lattes were delicious! Such a great find.

This is an amazing coffee shop all the way around. There is a separate seasonal menu for mock-tail coffee drinks and a wide range of drip coffee selections from all over the world! Plus, the servers are incredibly friendly and fun. Highly recommend!

Likely the best coffee shop in MKE right now from several angles, and they are relatively new. They source a variety of top-tier roasters from around the country (Madcap, Sweet Bloom, Ruby to name a few), friendly staff (no snobbery!), no compromises on coffee equipment = high quality drinks but not over-priced, inviting/chill atmosphere (even during Covid). Most coffee shops might accomplish one or two of the aforementioned, but Canary hits the mark on each of these. Only downside is not a great food offering, but that is ok b/c Milwaukee food scene is a walk away! Check them out if you haven't yet!

Was greeted with a smiling face, delicious pastries (had the gingerbread loaf and a hand pie), and the lattes were delicious.
I appreciate the unique flavors they offer. (Strawberry lavender pie, maple molasses latte, froot loops latte, lavender latte, as some examples)

To be honest, I was a little underwhelmed by my experience here. I walked out of my way to work that day (a total of 2 miles) to get here and it just didn’t feel as special as I’d hoped. Or worth going out of my way. Not sure why?

I feel like I expected more of a warm welcome since it was a brand new place. I saw a bunch of hype on Instagram so I guess I expected to feel that same hype but didn’t. Oh well.

I’d be willing to try again, but my first impression doesn’t have me running back.

Incredible coffee with very knowledgeable baristas.

Great coffee served quickly and with a lovely atmosphere. This would be my regular coffee shop if I lived here.

So chill. I suggest dining in to use their cozy cute mugs!

Meh….Not that great. Slow service!! Only one of two baristas were actually making coffee and they we’re complaining that the tips were ‘garbage’. Hmmmm maybe try working a tiny bit harder.
