Sweet little local cafe with good lattes and tasty food. Also gelato, which is kind of pricey but nice to have in the area (and free on your birthday!). Service can be slow (depending on who's on staff) so don't go if you're in a hurry, but if you have time to linger it's a very pleasant atmosphere.

I got a double espresso, a cup of JUST Coffee Java Cat Blend (**L♡ve JUST coffee**), & an artichoke panini - everything was AMAZING! Most impressive was the rich, smooth tasting espresso (thankfully lacking any "burned" taste or being overly bitter even without cream/sugar) and the cloud-like focaccia bread!! Despite not being cooked in the typical press/grilled panini style, the sandwich was warm and the bread was SO soft - it tasted like it was just baked! Their bistro/java cat sauce was a delightful viniagrette that paired well with the veggies on the panini. Additionally, the service was quick and pleasant, and the cafe ambience was very fun and laid back. I also appreciated their environmentally friendly dining practices. A true Madison gem that I'm thankful to have found - I definitely will be returning!

Meh. I have had better coffee. The drive thru experience is anxiety inducing. I was hoping to get a better coffee than the national chains, but it didn't happen.

Loved the coffee here! Had a great day off relaxing on the patio with my latte. The drive-through seemed very convenient. The breve was also delicious!

The gelato and the drive through make this place pretty unique and great. The coffee offering is espresso and air pot. I don't drink coffee unless there is a pour over option. Disney soundtrack is playing on speakers, I don't notice the cat theme quite as much

Great East Side Cafe! Im not a regular, so every time I visit the space has several nice updates. The menu changes often, their syrups are Torani, customer service is great, and I love how much food they offer!

Java Cat Coffee ranks as one of my favorite places for a breakfast or lunch in a comfortable setting with a delicious meal and a great cup of coffee. The service is friendly and informative and the selection wide enough to satisfy any hunger need.

I live within walking distance so I go here quite a bit—the coffee is decent, the food is made fresh (the breakfast burrito is amazing) and the gelato is refreshing. Seating can sometimes get tight as Java Cat is popular, but there is both indoors and outdoor seating, as well as a drive thu. My favorite detail about Java Cat is the quirky neighborhood vibe it has, with events hat are inclusive of all people, and local artwork always hanging for sale.
