Java Cat Coffee House

I love to work or relax in this independently owned coffee shop. The food is surprisingly good, and the coffee is excellent. My daughter loves the gelato, and the drive through window is a great way to get coffee on my way to work.

Main reason I come is it's the closest coffee drive through on my way to work and I'm just getting basic coffee. The baked goods are pretty good.

Some of the drink orders can be hit or miss - my flavored latte today tasted more like milk than any of the actual flavor I ordered, but other times they've been great.

Tried a breakfast sandwich for the first time though and it took a pretty long time and was burnt- plus the bacon seemed like the cheapest bacon you can get at a store.

Love the breakfast sandwiches with the boom boom sauce. Most employees are really friendly/kind and that’s super important for it being a typical first stop in the day. Coffee is great. Italian sodas are great and a fun change of pace. The gelato is also yummy, especially when you mix with coffee for a drink.

Coffee, of course. But serving some amazing food, too. Great staff, highly recommend

They no longer have prices posted for their drinks on the menu board. It's an unsettling experience. The atmosphere inside has just changed a lot over the years, not as cheerful or welcoming.

Hands down my favorite cafe in Madison! Great atmosphere, wonderful people, fantastic food and amazing coffee! The spicy hummus paninis are to die for!

I had a coupon out of the entertainment book and it was for 50% off a beverage and the barista said I could not use it and that it was fraudulent. I contacted entertainment and they said it is not fraudulent and they could not understand why they were not excepting the coupons anymore when they agreed for the coupons to be in there. They took my coupon from me and wouldn’t give it back. Customer service was not friendly. Here’s the coupon section.

Very friendly breakfast/lunch café. The staff were helpful and the food was good. I had a decaf latte which was tasty and their breakfast quesadilla. Only constructive criticism I have is that the food was americanized. If the quesadilla was just a bit more authentic they would have got a 5.

Hot coffee, delicious pastries, and even more delicious gelato!! I can't say Java Cat is one of our favorite coffee places in Madison; every time we've gone, they've been very busy and our coffees very rushed. Otherwise, your typical coffee stop (plus delicious gelato)!

Best coffee in town. Can’t find a Chai Charger as good/better than theirs. Great staff, always welcoming and ready. Definitely worth waiting for if there is a line!
