Review of MOKA

MOKA is a cozy coffee shop located at 1900 South Ave, Legacy, Building Level 1, La Crosse, WI 54601. With its warm and inviting atmosphere, it's the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a cup of coffee. The shop is open from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM from Monday to Friday, and from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on weekends.

Customers have mentioned that the staff at MOKA are friendly and provide great service. The shop has received positive reviews for its customer service, with visitors appreciating the welcoming and helpful attitude of the employees.

However, some customers have expressed concerns about the consistency of their drinks. They have mentioned that there have been instances where the same drink tasted different on different occasions. This lack of consistency has disappointed some customers who value reliability in their coffee experience.

Another point of criticism is the knowledge of the employees regarding different coffee beverages. Some customers have reported that the staff seemed inexperienced and were unable to explain the differences between a latte, cappuccino, and macchiato. Additionally, there have been instances where the coffee tasted burned, indicating a possible lack of understanding about optimal brewing temperatures and times.

Despite these criticisms, MOKA has its loyal fans who appreciate the selection of drinks and the overall ambiance of the coffee shop. It's worth noting that the shop offers online ordering and pre-order options, although some customers have mentioned inconsistencies with this service.

If you're looking for a friendly and cozy coffee shop in La Crosse, MOKA is worth a visit. Just be aware that there have been mixed reviews regarding drink consistency and employee knowledge.

Very little consistency when ordering the same drink over time. In the past, I'd gotten a pumpkin latte that tasted absolutely awful, like flowers and today, I order a French toast latte and again- disgusting. Consistency is very important to customers. We don't want to worry that our drink will be completely nasty when it's cooled down enough to drink. If drink recipes are confusing, make a recipe book. I've worked in my fair share of coffee shops and we all had recipe books. Super-disappointing to pay over $5 for an undrinkable latte.

Nice people, decent selection. Online ordering/preorder is inconsistent, waited more than half hour, late afternoon so not even lunch or breakfast rush.

Inexperienced employees. Employees can’t tell you what the difference is between a latte, cappuccino and a macchiato. Why do they always ask “hot or cold”? A latte is a hot drink. An iced latte is a cold drink. I ordered a house blend and they asked “hot or cold”. If I wanted it cold I would have ordered an iced coffee. The woman seemed shocked when I didn’t want room for cream and sugar. Some people actually drink black coffee. I’m guessing this is a business started by someone who thought it would be cool to have a coffee shop and who actually knows little to nothing about coffee. I’m not sure why people think this place is good. Numerous times my coffee has tasted burned. I’m guessing they know nothing about optimal brewing temperatures and times. They wouldn’t know single origin or pour over if you asked them about that either. I’m pretty sure most of their employees pronounce it expresso instead of espresso. Get a clue. Stop trying to be something you very clearly aren’t. I’m wishing La Crosse had a Wonderstate Cafe.
