Super cute place! A little difficult to find but worth the search, and you'll be rewarded with a unique, personal, and peaceful coffee oasis. It almost gives me Minneapolis vibes. Can tell the owners have put their personal touch into this place. There is thought-provoking artwork on the walls and hand-selected books on the bookshelves--take one, leave one! The owners are very friendly and, cheesy as it sounds, I felt like my coffee was made with a touch of love, or instilled with the essence of "we hope you have a wonderful day." It's hard to find service like that. The coffee was delicious and the food looked great. A wonderful addition to the coffee shop scene of La Crosse, check it out!
This coffee shop is fantastic and hands down my favorite coffee shop in the region. The London Fog is my go to. The avocado toast has some kind of magic in it. It's a bit hidden but SO WORTH FINDING!!
Stopped by on a rainy day and J’s cafe was open - they also conveniently had a special story time event for MLK day. I had the decaf London fog (yes, they have decaf earl grey!) and a chai tea latte. Both were excellent! The customer service was warm and friendly.
The perfect cafe! The drinks and food are wonderful and reasonably priced. It's a great place to hang out with friends or to find a quiet corner to study. The entrance was a little tricky to find the first time I went. J's is on the first level of the City Square building at the corner of Main St. and 5th Ave S. You can go in either through the Main St entrance next to the hair salon or through the entrance off of 5th Ave next to the Artist's Alley.
I've lived downtown for 7 years, and Js cafe has the best coffee and food in the area. The employees are great hardworking people, and the place itself is welcoming. More people should know about this!
Great place for a quick bite or a longer stay if you loose track of time. Great and welcoming staff that give recommendations on their menu. Great food and coffee.
Literally the best chai I've had in La Crosse! J's Cafe is charming and cozy. The tables are perfect for work or studying and I'm a big fan of cafes/coffee shops with couches for the times you want to be a little more comfortable catching up with friends. Definitely recommend!
I love going to J’s cafe, it is a very cozy environment and Ben and J are very nice:) I always get their chai latte and the avocado toast which is to die for! PLUS they have loyalty card but 10 get one free. J’s will always be my go-to cafe:)
By far the best chai in town (yes, it beats Javavino)! The Açaí bowl is delicious and filling as well. Perfect little cafe tucked away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.

Nice location downtown for coffee, tea & brunch items. Both the Avocado Toast with egg & bacon and Power Bowl were great! Definitely will be back
