Youngstown Coffee

Youngstown Coffee has a warm and cozy atmosphere and their staff is very friendly. I stopped by the coffee shop the other day for breakfast. My latte wasn't really perfect, a bit burnt and too hot; but the breakfast sandwich was delicious and nicely warmed up.

I don't trust easily ... when it comes to coffee especially! And so I have my go-to joints. Sometimes I get the bug for a place like this though. Adorable and cozy (teensy). Like a real neighborhood place, if you live in a cool neighborhood. Very progressive people, not shy about working some empowering social justice statements into the decor. Rainbows and real plants yessss

Got the P.S. I love you this morning… absolutely spectacular. Forgot the name of who was working Saturday morning (25th) but you deserve a raise. I haven’t had that great of coffee in a very long time! Much love and wish the business the best the rest of the year!

Dishonest pricing. I ordered a 12 oz Americano. Menu says it's $3.25. I'm rung $4.69?? The barista says they updated their prices but not the menu. I just left without completing the order. I don't like thinking I'm paying one price and getting charged over a dollar more out of nowhere. Also I noticed that their tea prices increase with each size. I hate when places do that cause it's only more water in the cup. All tea sizes should be the same price if only the amount of water is increasing.

The barista did not inform me of a letter on the counter. She did tell me the prices had been increased but the chalkboard hadn't been updated. It's not that I "didn't bother" to notice the letter on your counter, I didn't see it. I only saw the menu. I think it would make more sense to update the menu before the price change went into effect, especially since it's on a chalkboard.
I frequent this place whenever I'm in the neighborhood but I'm disappointed in this interaction.

Got to finally check out Youngstown Coffee not named after my birthplace in Ohio. Vibes are super chill and the staff is really nice. They have breakfast sandwiches too. I got my normal single tall vanilla oat milk latte drink and it was top 3 I’ve had on the West Side. I’ll be back for sure and will let you know how the breakfast options go.

I’ve been coming here since I moved to west Seattle in 2020 and it’s become one of my faves in the city. Their specialty drinks are creative and delicious, but they nail the classics as well. One thing I am particularly impressed by is their food. I feel like coffee shops that offer food tend to be a let down, but the breakfast sandwiches here omg. Another level for coffee shop food. To me there’s nothing better than a Youngstown breakfast sandwich paired with an iced vanilla latte. It totally makes my day. On top of it all, the employees here are so nice. This place truly can’t be beat.

The best coffee shop! Almost every other coffee shop in W. Seattle upcharges for non-dairy milk. Why? At the grocery store they are the exact same price! Not Youngstown though, thanks for accepting and supporting the needs of others.

Did I mention the rotating drink specials? Or the super user friendly app so you can order ahead? And their coffee drinks are better than most in the area anyways!

Youngstown is so accepting and supportive no matter who you are, what you can drink, etc., you will not be disappointed.

Best lattes in all of Seattle!! Zoe is simply the most caring and talented human and always has a smile and a story to share with her fantastic lattes. She remembers everyone who enters the shop and has created such a beautiful little home away from away. I always stop here when I'm in West Seattle!!! ❤️☕

I give Youngstown a 13/10

Poor customer service! The baristas are rude, not welcoming, and never smile! It’s almost as if they hate what they do.
We had a specific interaction with one of the baristas who was extremely rude that made us never want to return again. Will be going to C&P coffee or other local places from now on, who always give us a good experience with their excellent customer service, and positive and pleasant demeanor.

Zoe is a true milk-foaming magician - a caffeinated genius, if you will. I get the Perfect Start nearly every morning and it makes me feel like a better human. With food coming in, she may take over the world.
