We LOVE it here! It has been the best place to enjoy a beautiful cup of coffee and catch up with my thoughts, a friend, my family or a hobby that I need to make time for. The food, especially the desserts, is so good and made with care. Every bit of this place is thought out carefully for presentation, experience and atmosphere. My kids look forward to coming here, too. They can play nearby while I sip a lovely beautifully made coffee or enjoy sitting with me while we talk or build a puzzle.
The quality is impeccable. We look forward to coming here as often as we can and that has been such a blessing to our family.
A place to play, to enjoy the people with us and/or to recharge ourselves while enjoying the delicious gift of a well made coffee, dessert and/or breakfast or lunch.

INCREDIBLE. Add this to your list to stop for food, coffee, date night and all the above. It is perfect for small and large groups. They have a variety of bakery, food, and drink options.
Nourish Sunrise Bowl - 10/10
Fresh bowl that is more than enough for one person to feel clean after eating it
Gluten Sensitive Next Level Breakfast 10/10
Fantastic option with fresh ingredients and nice balance of crunch
Blueberry Pancake Latte - 10/10
Smells exactly like a blueberry pancake but is just the right amount of sweet! Yummy!
We met Cecila, the Hawaiian native bring her culture to Newport News. She taught us her vision to provide the persnickety lenses to all she does. She hopes to bring an excellent experience for her customers from clean environment, fresh ingredients, and welcoming staff. She donates proceeds to charities across the world.

Their specialty drinks are on point, and the salad I ordered today was amazing! So fresh and delicious!! Only suggestion, if the salad would have had glazed almonds and pecans as a substitute for regular almonds and pecans, it would have been next level!
I am looking forward to my next visit! :) Great little coffee shop!

Persnickety crane is my favorite breakfast place by far. While they're slightly pricey the food and atmosphere makes up for it. The acai bowls are incredible and literally look like something out of a magazine. I like the Hawaiian immunity bowl which is what I got on the picture. The breakfast burrito is also really good and you can sub avocado for meat if you are vegetarian. Their coffee is always incredible too.

OBSESSED. I heard such great things and came after church for such a yummy breakfast! It is a really cute and cozy place with a fun menu. Their play area for kiddos is really nice!

Super awesome coffee shop - hands down the best, highest quality coffee in Hampton Roads, as seen from firsthand work experience and observation of other coffee shops. No other place scrutinizes this much over coffee, and if you’re looking for top-notch coffee of any variety, this is your place. Service is excellent, and the food is also pretty great - they have extremely creative, unique, and healthy items you legitimately won’t find anywhere else, and local pastries that are always fresh. The shop itself has a very modern, millennial vibe, and is extra family friendly with a kids play area and specialty kids menu. Most of the time it is an especially relaxed environment. The decoration and furniture variety borders on hectic, however strikes an eloquent balance of unique, homey, modern class (many adjectives, I know). Only real downside I have with this shop is that it is pretty expensive; drinks are all around $5 and if you get a meal you’ll probably be spending around $15-20, so it’s hard to enjoy this cafe as much as I’d really like. Overall though, I would definitely recommend the Crane Cafe - there’s really no other place like it in Hampton Roads.

Loved this place. The coffee was great. The hot chocolate was loved. And the espresso dusted French toast was a little chewy but wonderful in flavor.
Didn’t love the prices but cest la vie.

Great place to grab a coffee and have a sit with your kids in tow. Truly one of the few coffee stops I have found that had a good set up for kids.
That said, bring your ear plugs. Gets a little loud. I'm not sure how long they have been here but a little more cohesion in vision maybe. Felt like 2 different places. Had a cortado. Always appreciate when I can order it without explaining it's make up.

I LOVE this place! The atmosphere is friendly, bright, and open. The drinks and food are delicious - as well as homey. Dining in comes in real cups and plates. Great place to study, meet with friends, work, or relax. This is my favorite spot on the peninsula. Anytime my friends visit from out of town, we come here!

My family and I come in often and enjoy the variety of food and drinks here. Today I had the seasonal beverage - pumpkin harvest latte! It is like pumpkin pie in a cup😋 SO GOOD! I drank it so fast I could only take a pic of the empty cup😂 come in - you won't be disappointed!
