Illy Caffe

After I placed my order I couldn’t heard the order the barista served so I headed to the counter very close to the barista and I was ignored. The hot food items were almost cold. The hot latter was cold-warm and the frappe was watery.
I love Illy coffee, but didn’t like the quality and service from this store. Very expensive for not to get the items to the right temperature.
The place looked clean.

Had happy hour drinks and a sweet bakery item. All was great! Especially the espresso martini. Very pleasant staff, too!

WE BOUGGT DIFFERENT TYPE OF COFFEE. WE SPENT AROUND $ 58-/ DOLLARS FOR THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF COFFEE. NOW THE QUESTION IS THAT ALL COFFEE ARE VERY CLOD AND HOT CHOCOLATE FOR KIDS LIKE COLD CHOCOLATE. ALL HOT COFFEE ARE LIKE COLD COFFEE. I SURPRISED THAT THEY HAVE BIG LINE UP TO THE DOOR. NOT WORTH TO GO THERE AND SPEND THE MONEY..

Theres good mochas and theres great mochas. The mochas at Illy are truly great - awesome microfoam and just barely sweet :) As for the environment, its a great place to do school work or catch up with friends - always my go-to when I'm back from university. Baristas have always been friendly and welcoming, and the place is always well kept.

Good coffee, pastries are alright but are clearly being reheated from frozen, not even sure if they get defrosted ahead of when they get in the oven. So they turn out a bit soft and aren’t your real European crisp croissant etc. Also their “”European vibes”” music is annoying.

Edit: dude, the pastries were cold on the bottom and warm on the top, and clearly you’re heating up all of them in the oven before you serve them. Fresh pastries don’t need to be heated. These were about on par with what you can get at your average Dunkin Donuts or grocery store. If you’re really using a local supplier you should consider switching bakers.

Love the freshly made coffees and the pastries. I'd love to see soup on the menu in the afternoons.

We stopped in for coffee and croissants and everything was delicious- chicken salad; ham & cheese; and chocolate croissants. Also the rose almond latte was very good.

I like this place a lot, and I stop by all the time. Two problems: 1) the design of the large coffee cup is horrible. The handle is so small. You can’t drink hot coffee out of that cup without burning your hands. But I realize this isn’t the fault of the employees, all of whom are great. 2) the patio tables outside are so dirty, and though customers are expected to wipe down their own tables, there’s no provided cleaning supplies like spray or wipes outside.

The interior is like walking into a European coffee bistro. The baristas grind the beans for each espresso as we watch. Delicious! The shop has a side door leading into a decorating shop full of floral arrangements. The whole effect is transporting, and yet my coffee drink was in line price wise with other coffee shops like Starbucks. I left a bag behind and it was waiting behind the counter with a note that it belonged to a customer. The walking street in this block of Merchants Square is filled with umbrella tables. I look forward to going back!
