A+ vibes at Big Oak! For breakfast on Saturday, we started off with the French toast, which was the best I’ve ever had. It was the perfect mix of sweet and hearty. Then we got the breakfast bowl, and soft shell Benedict. DeeDee will definitely never make you a meal that will have you leaving hungry! For lunch on Sunday, we got the cheesesteak sub and the Cuban sandwich, which again was the best I’ve ever had. I’m still dreaming about the ham on that Cuban! The decor in the restaurant makes me feel at home, and the whole staff is very friendly and cheery. All of the food was delicious, and service was very quick and attentive. I can’t wait to go back!

Visiting Urbana we found this nice little place and enjoyed a really great meal with another family. The following day we decided to return for another meal. The cook met us just as we entered to tell us to call ahead before coming again with a “large party” of 9. 🙁 We were served after a group of 4 that came in after us, the sides were much smaller than the day before, and the pulled pork had significantly more fat than the 1st one. Such a disappointment, as they had the best food in the small town, up to our 2nd visit.

This place is a gem. My wife and I moved to the area in June 2021 and now make this a regular stop. Especially Monday night for hamburgers they are the best I think I have ever eaten. Small place which great service and wonderful atmosphere.

Food and atmosphere were both good. Service wasn’t so great but the waitress was trying her best as she was the only waitress working on a Sunday morning at a breakfast place. They were also out of orange juice and apple juice but we did come in a little later for breakfast. If they could get just a little better service they would have a great restaurant
