Walked in with a group of 9 at 10 on Saturday. Nobody said a word to us so we sat down. Server came over 5-10 mins later, not a smile and looked mad that we were there… food took forever and saw other tables get served much faster that came in after us… refills were at our request, we had to walk over and ask for them. Food was meh, poached eggs for the daily special of eggs Benedict were hard boiled, the sausage gravy had very little flavor and the food was a bit dry. The biscuits were very good, I wi say that. The prices were high. We tech to venture out often in groups and have never had this experience, went to the Mexican place a few miles away in town that night and were greeted with smiles and service was fast, food was great and spect less money. Won’t be going back, will save my money and go to Hardy’s. Do not recommend…

A lovely spot, with great steaks at great prices. Wonderful service and killer cooking from the new chefs. We had such a nice dinner, and we'll be back next time we're in Urbanna!

A nice little out of the way place. Good food, friendly and helpful staff.

The absolute best restaurant in Urbanna and Middlesex county. When I stayed in Urbanna, I went to Big Oak Cafe three different times. The service is professional, and the food was terrific. Their seafood is fresh and delicious.

The salads are always so fresh. We had the peach cobbler with icecream which was delicious. Strongly recommend

They had just finished with a 50th birthday party so wait time was longer than normal. However I feel it was worth the rate the cho beef and gravy was just right a lot of time people make it to salty. And the grits were awesome.

Wow what a gem this place is. Cant judge a book by its cover. Old house on side of country road converted to a small 8 table restaurant. Family run, super clean and delicious food. We were camping in Urbana and looking for a small local place and we struck golf with this one. Lunch shrimp basket with 5 giant fried shrimp was amazing. We also had steak and cheese special. Everything was outstanding and so reasonably priced. And our server Jenna was very sweet attentive and helpful. If you are in the area don’t pass this one up.

Huge fan of this place until this weekend. Service was awful, not busy when we went. Had to refill our own drinks. Food served all different times,no silverware, after 20 minutes someone finally noticed we could not eat. Will not be back

Outstanding food and service! Cheerful place! Their crabs soup was so good that I ordered an extra to take home with me! This is high praise because I make my own crab soup that is really good. This is the first I've ever had that I liked never than mine!
