It was our first time coming here and the reviews looked good. The decor was weird and the place felt sparse. The prices were very low so I assumed quality of food was as well but I really wouldn’t know.. After waiting for over an hour with three kids I asked our very polite and friendly waitress if they had even started our food and she said no. She did not ask us to pay for the drinks and I thanked her. Mind you we were the second table they had out of four. We went back across the street to the plaid turnip and got our main course before the first table at the cafe left.

Upon entry, the owner pleasantly greeted us. It was very welcoming. The atmosphere was relaxing. The food, simply delicious. The owner’s wife was a great hostess. If I’m ever in this area again, I’ll gladly eat here.

First visit to this kitschy, creative downtown spot, but I'll definitely be back! Felt like family from the front door, through a perfectly prepared breakfast, to a friendly chat with the very busy husband-and-wife duo running the show. Love the whole vibe!

I love the owners and I've only been a few times. Fast courteous service with a side of laughter and joy! The pancakes are huge and wonderful! I aim to try the bar-b-q next but I just keep ordering the pancakes! Anyway I recommend this place, and it's all day breakfast!

Absolutely love this place, amazing family business that is ran by some amazing people. I watched the owners give free ice-cream to a couple of nahborhood kids. Such a great environment and a staple to Suffolk. The food was amazing and the price is great. My favorite lunch place in Suffolk.

Happened upon this awesome little place and thoroughly enjoyed the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere, staff, food, and even the other patrons. This place cares ... a ray of HOPE shining in Suffolk ... maybe I'll not soon move after all.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS! Food was AMAZING, staff is terrific. Love the 80's themed decor. Best of all it is veteran owned and for that will absolutely keep going back to support the small local business. GREAT JOB GUYS.

If anybody rates this place negatively, they are lying. if I could give them a million stars , I would. they treat every customer with respect and they make you feel at home (which you can see just by waiting for your food) my fiancé and I travel from North Carolina JUST to eat here. (we’ve replaced ihop with brighter day cafe) our very first time going to this business, they welcomed us in and got to us quickly. we always stop by the door to read the funny signage they have outside the business (if you don’t find It funny, you really have no sense of humor). they don’t turn you down for not wearing a mask (the tables are literally more than 6 feet apart so you’re not right up under anybody anyways) every single time we’ve came to this business we’ve always felt welcomed in like we were part of the family. We love this place and will ALWAYS come 45 minutes just to eat here. when I say we replaced ihop with brighter day cafe, I mean It. if you go to ihop , It could be dead empty in there and they still take 10 years to give you your food , in brighter day cafe , It feels like you’re waiting for 5 minutes. the food is always hot and delicious. I 10/10 recommend.
