Sweet Donkey Coffee

Never have eaten here but the coffee is good and the atmosphere alone is worth the trip. Quaint but classy, country chic. Cool place to hang for a conversation or check a live band weather permitting.

I lived in Roanoke for 6 months several years ago. Sweet Donkey was, and remains one of my favorite coffee shops. Recently on a roadtrip south, my boyfriend and I stopped by. It was everything I remembered. He raved about his parfait. The cold brew was great. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating. Highly recommend.

Great coffee shop. They use Counter Culture coffee which is really flavorful. A number of pastries came from Bread Craft which is an exceptionally good local bakery. The parking here can be a challenge as the parking lot behind the building only holds 7 cars so prepare to potentially need to park on the street in the nearby lovely neighborhood and walk just a tad. Tons of seating inside, and outside in both shade and sun. Service is friendly but at peak hours can be a tad slow as they only seem to have one cappuccino making person and it gets busy at the counter.
Recommend arriving early to beat the crowds and get good parking.

Had their cold brew. Was the best cold brew I've had in Roanoke and include Christiansburg/Blacksburg area. Highly recommend their cold brew. Super friendly staff. Nice atmosphere to do work in. Would recommend

Sweet Donkey Coffee is one of the coolest coffee shops that I have walked in to! It's great to get Counter Culture coffee where I wouldn't expect it. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Such a cute coffee shop with lots of seating. The inside wasn’t open to sit but you can go inside, order coffee and sit outside under shaded tables. The coffee was delicious!

Had a great latte, sitting outside enjoying the view of Mill Mountain. Lots of outdoor and indoor space. Dog friendly. Plenty of staff. Can get crowded.
