Excellent southern comfort food and Roanoke's only roadhouse! The Coffee Pot is a slice of southern history carved out of the old days of Roanoke in the 1930's. This historic landmark lies on what used to be a country road leading into the city from southwestern Roanoke County.
The best item on the menu is easily the house smoked pulled pork BBQ with homemade BBQ sauces and secret recipe coleslaw. The lunch buffet is offered Monday through Friday. It often includes a generous choice of southern dishes including, but not limited to, pulled pork, steak, fried chicken, meatloaf, green beans, corn, and mashed potatoes as well as a full salad bar with at least one soup and dessert.
The staff is friendly, but also rough around the edges in a good way. It lends some charm to the environment of a roadhouse. Don't expect the kind of treatment that you would get at a fine dining experience. Expect employees that get to learn you and your tastes while providing a bit of humor and sarcasm. This place is definitely not for folks who can't take a joke. Food service is prompt and courteous of your time.
Not only does this roadhouse serve up great history, food, and service, but it also serves as a music venue. From hard rock to karaoke and rap to country, there is almost always an entertaining evening activity at the Coffee Pot.
Keep in mind that the entire roadhouse is considered smoking with the exception of the one small table in the foyer. This appeals to the usual clientele, but those sensitive to it might take issue.
Overall, the Coffee Pot is an excellent southern tradition. Stop in and try the BBQ! You won't be disappointed!

Not impressed. Wanted to charge designated driver for drinking 3 glasses water. Drinks had hardly no liquor. Finally told server to bring me a shot and I added it to my drink. Our waitress was nice but person in charge was rude to someone with our group.

The Coffee Pot has been a staple in Roanoke for a long time. They still seem to keep up that okd school atmosphere still to this day. All non-smokers be warned tho, this is still an establishment that lets smokers partake in cigarettes inside. Still a great place to go for good music and a good drink.

Been going there off and on for years. An unusual historic landmark building, but good pizza, buffet. And live music venue.
We enjoy Karaoke, and they are one of our choices ...
Kid friendly day and early evening for food ... and good pizza, kids!
As they say, " something's always perking at The Por"

Disappointing. Always wanted to try their buffet, never have, never will after experience on Wednesday with my elderly, disabled parents. SMOKING allowed inside without an adequately separated dining area near the buffet that people severely allergic to tobacco smoke cannot tolerate. The female bartender seemed quite arrogant & rude informing us that we could eat outside & the nonsmoking section was the tiny room with the lights off. Too bad this rate can't be way below 0. Definitely speaks volumes about the owner's character. What a waste of time & gas. I had no idea it was still necessary to call & ask if it was a non smoking restaurant since the state's non smoking laws have gone into effect.

Amazing historic building with a coffee pot on it and great food. Excellent local flavor. We happened to pop in on their karaoke night. Would give five stars except they allow smoking everywhere which was a little too much.

Me and three friends went to this facility for a paint party. Walked in the door and the cigarette smoke was powerful. I looked around and there was ashtrays on every table and several on the bar. I asked if they were allowing smoking and the lady told me "not where you will be ". There was only one way in. Right through the smokers. Then we were told we could not bring our water bottles in. As we were leaving, the manager told my friend "move on down the road". Disgusting!

My fav location for American food. Arrived at seven, it wasn't crowded. Looking forward to returning with my relatives. The bill was fair for the quality of the food. Atmosphere is like a restaurant in Fort Worth I loved.
