I am visiting Norfolk for a wedding and the bride and groom brought be here for breakfast. I was hungover and this food cured me. It was so delicious- I’m not sure we have anything comparable in Houston but I wish we did. The potato salad and the orzo salad were OUTSTANDING and the pork shoulder waffle was to die for. I love it there!

Very professional and big on hospitality Mea Culpa Cafe really is a hidden jem in Ghent. Perfect for a summer weekend brunch with a good menu of light but also filling dishes or fall coffee spot outdoors on their patio.
Super great staff too! The only downside is that some items are a bit overpriced. For what you’re getting it’s expected with it being a local business, they still gotta keep the lights on, but overall really good.

Mea Culpa is in a cute little house in the railroad district of Norfolk (from the founders of the Waffletina food truck). They’re known for their liege waffles. I found the sweet ones better than the savory ones.

The oat milk mocha latte was incredible. I’ll definitely be back soon!

I absolutely adore this place. The setting is open and great. The food is to die for! I went this am and can't wait to go back. Lovely service also and such a relaxing vibe. I could spend every morning here

Waffles are insanely good. You won't regret coming. Coffee is amazing, as well. Nice deck seating with cool atmosphere. Always great music playing, too.

Very clean, very bright coffee shop with friendly staff. On warm days, you can sit on the nice wrap-around porch. I highly recommend the homemade coconut cake.

This simple, sleek coffee shop is the only one in Norfolk that serves Three Ships coffee, the only local roasters whose style has more of a nuanced, West Coast taste. It's trendy without being pretentious - there are only a few drink and food options, but everything I've eaten there has been not only good, but more sophisticated than what you usually get at a coffee shop. If you like Cure or Cafe Stella, then you'll probably like Mea Culpa. The only reason I give it four out of five stars is that the baristas can sometimes be slow. Not because they're not working, but rather that they are painstakingly measuring out each shot, etc. I think they'll get faster with time. As it is, I go to Mea Culpa to take a brief break from my busy day, and to stop and smell the coffee.
