The best waffles in the region!
Every option is delicious.
Coffees and cocktails prepared to perfection, every time.

I cannot speak highly enough of this place! They use Three Ships coffee, which is awesome as always, and offer a great basic selection of drinks, as well as some seasonal options. My husband and I each tried one of the two seasonal lattes, which were peach and blackberry, and really enjoyed that it was something super different! The atmosphere/aesthetic here was my favorite though - a hammock in the side yard, live plants everywhere, tons of open seating inside and on the front porch, and a really sweet espresso bar! Just a few steps away from Handsome Biscuit, so make a whole fun morning outing of it like we did, and you will not be disappointed!

Love at first bite! Service, staff, and price was great. I had an amazing experience. This is hand down my new top breakfast spot in the area. Best latte ever!

This is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast or lunch. When our families come from NY this is one of the places we always have to take them

We’ve been in the neighborhood for a little over a year and just found out about this gem. We have been missing out! We ordered the iced coconut-lime latte and banana-chocolate latte. DELICIOUS! Do not hesitate to order either. Next, we ordered the breakfast waffle sandwich. AMAZING! Crispy waffles, sweet/salty/savory/peppery eggs and veggies, everything you could want! It was plenty to share. We will be back frequently!

Goat Cheese Waffle. Easily the most incredible culinary masterpiece that has ever beat down my taste buds. If I could describe it in words, it would take a good minute. It's a must have.

Cappuccino didn’t have enough foam as it should. However the taste of espresso was okay. It was tooooooooo noisy so that I had to leave as I finished coffee.

So I had the pleasure of trying Mea Culpa for the first time because there was a Yelp Book Club meeting here! Dude, first of all, don't drive by too fast or you'll miss it. I seriously thought it was someone's house and people were just parked in front of it because there was street parking. NOPE! It was a legit cafe right next to Toast (if you love Toast like I do, go stop by Mea Culpa ASAP). And whoa, their oatmeal was a bowl of yummy goodness that I wasn't expecting? Like, I don't think I can eat another kind of oatmeal anymore, to be honest. Who knew that having a sunny side up egg with chili powder and all the other goodies in the oatmeal would make it taste extremely amazing and fulfilling?! I had no clue! I'm glad I tried it. The iced tea was perfect. I love teas, and if a cafe doesn't have a good tea, it's rare that I'll go again unless I love the food there. So Mea Culpa was two for two. It really is an amazing place. Go check it out like right now. Go on!

I've followed Waffletina around Norfolk, so obviously had to come here. Limited sandwich menu with high quality ingredients that changes, but always a veggie option. Small baked goods and a limited but great coffee menu that serves Three Ships.

Travel & Fun

I love the place, the coffee and the atmosphere. I like trying local places while traveling around the world and this is a must if you are looking for great coffee.
