Stumbled upon this wonderful cafe. The waffle breakfast sandwich was magnificent. Staff was friendly and fun. It was the best breakfast I have ever had!

Love this peaceful coffeeshop! The porch seating with the beautiful jasmine or honeysuckle vines is wonderfully serene. Service is thoughtful! My vanilla latte was so smooth & full of flavor.

If youre in norfolk, check out this hole in the wall tucked away on Colonial Ave. Delicious food, tasty and beautiful drinks, phenomenal, kind service. We were even offered water while we waited for a pickup order, which was a great first impression. Menu is waffle centric, which is reasonable, because the waffles are fantastic-doughy yet fluffy with crystalized sugar. Quaint vibe and friendly atmosphere. I got the rosemary latte, hibiscus tea, and drip coffee. I tried the coconut loaf too. All were stellar, especially the latte. Vegetarian friendly.

Excellent coffee, the ambiance is great. I had corn pancakes and they were amazing, such a savory treat. A must try if you plan to come here.

For Waffletina lovers they have now found a permanent home and new name. A beautiful fully restored turn of the century Victorian charmer is now Mea Culpa Cafe.

Now into their 3rd week Mea Culpa's owners Cristina Angelo & Kristopher Harvey are serving up favorites from their pop up events. Also expect a few new items. Local Three Ships Coffee is on the menu and beans can be purchased in-store.

Painstaking renovation has taken place in the 1906 Victorian located off Colonial Ave in Ghent, now being referred to as the Rail Road District. Dine in, or on their quaint wrap around porch. Much of the restoration was guided by historical grant money. This ensured it was done as accurately as possible and to code. Free free off street.

The dine in space is bright with plenty of sunshine coming through large windows. The wooden floors are a marvelous mocha color. All seating is table and chairs. An enclosed fireplace is begging for something. A mural, a painting, or a mantle. I discussed this with Kristopher.

My order a Liege Waffle Sandwich / cured pork, sun dried tomatoes, arugula, garlic aioli, fried egg. Paired with a vanilla latte and a God Speed coffee. Dessert coconut loaf. All amazing and fresh, fresh, fresh.

Thank you for the warm welcome and hospitality Cristina & Kristopher. Great things are coming your way. 4.5, rounding down with price point of coffee from Three Ships that pushes my budget and a limited start up menu. Hours W-Sun 8-3.

Let me just start by saying that if I could leave more than 5 stars for this review I would! This cafe has such a good vibe inside and just by looking at it from the outside it looks so cute like a cottage type house which I thought was so different and cool! And the food don’t get me started on the food.. I got the breakfast waffle sandwich which incorporated so many different flavors which worked so well together leaving me satisfied and full! Paired with the hot chocolate that I got you have many different options for milk choices and mine was with almond milk.. So good! And they make it fresh infront of you always with a lil foam heart on top! And the cherry on top that they are LGBTQ+ friendly just perfection (●’◡’●)ノ I will be coming back here again ♡´・ᴗ・`♡

Never had a leige waffle before coming here. It was very good and the chocolate halva spread that came with it was incredible. Also loved the sumac shortbread cookies. This place is an excellent addition to the other two unique places to eat here on the corner of Colonial and 25th.

Mea Culpa’s food is absolutely incredible. They are my favorite place to eat breakfast in Hampton Roads. The menu is small, but they make up for it with quality.
