Canvas Coffee

Wow!! The barista was a true artist. I watched him making the drinks and he was so precise and meticulous. It truly looked like he cared about every detail and making the perfect drink. I got a spicy Mexican mocha and it was absolutely amazing! Being from Cali not very many people get it right but this was absolute perfection. What a wonderful little hidden gem.

I’ve been going to Canvas since it opened and I have thoroughly enjoyed everything they have done and are continuing to do to grown their business. The atmosphere is very relaxing whether you’re in the cafe or enjoying the outside patio furniture. The staff is extremely friendsly and personable, and Alex is so knowledgeable in all things coffee he has never led me astray with his suggestions and creations. The newest addition to an already delicious coffee is the waffle with hazelnut/chocolate spread and fresh fruit. The fluffiness of the inside of the waffle paired with the crispy outside was great on its own- and then add the spread and fresh fruit and it’s out of this world! Definitely recommend getting over there first thing when they open to enjoy this tasty addition, or stop by after work (they’re open later-yay!) to have a cup and decompress after a long day.

I've been coming to Canvas ever since they opened (Feb 2019 I believe), and have always had consistently incredible experiences. The coffee, in my opinion, is the best in the 757. The people are amazing - the team are all knowledgeable, warm and passionate about what they do and where the coffee comes from. Everything they produce has been carefully crafted and lovingly made. Their beans are roasted fresh in their warehouse roastery and they're the best beans money can buy in this area. I would highly recommend visiting this special place if you are in the area and buy a bag of their beans while you're there.

It was honestly my first time trying a latte and it definitely exceeded my expectations!! The atmosphere is Epic hahah kinda gives me cool hipster vibes, very contemporary, books, welding shelves, green wall nature vibes hahaha I love the little shop. It's definitely not a big spot and it gets filled with the locals very quickly in the morning times but many drinks to offer, delicious pastries, seasonal specials galore ♡ I will differently be coming back soon

This is the Best coffee shop in Hampton Roads. I shop around and goes all over to different coffee shops. And this is the the #1 coffee shop. If you haven't tried Canvas you ars missing out. If you want to experience a travel around the world without leaving the Hampton Roads area give them a try you will not be disappointed!!!!☕️❤

From the outside I wasn't sure if I was going to the right place as the shop has a sign above the door that says "coffee". The coffee shop seemingly squeezed in between bigger facades of businesses and it's not until you are a few steps away from the door that has its namesake.
But this quaint coffee shop welcomes you with cozy ambiance. Very obvious that it's a hip place, people come to congregate, work, enjoy the nicely crafted coffee. The walls are modernistic with black and white walls.
The barista is very polite, tells you that she'll be with you in a minutes while she finishes crafting the previous order. I asked if she can make my 2 shots of edited so caramel macchiato latte. My latte was good. I took my latte to go but I'll definitely come back. Thank you to my friend Heather for the suggestion!

Best espresso in town. Truly handcrafted and done right by all members of the staff. One of the owners roasts the beans himself. This is real coffee. You'll learn and taste things you've never imagined.

Sublime Surprise: At first I could not tell if this was another pretentious cafe. However, just 2 minutes in the shop I realized that this coffee shop had the goods.

We ordered a Costs Rican pour over. 🇨🇷☕
Instead of being the typical (too) light roast, it was an even an smooth blend. It happened to go exactly with our Almond Joy pound cake

The pound cakes came out warm and fluffy impaired perfectly with our coffees.

The so was minimalist, but that was because the focus was so obviously on the care of coffee.

The Hedgehog 🦔
after seeing the hedgehog on the menu, I was certain to get a sugar rush. Instead of it being over sugary, however, it came through as a balanced mocha chocolatey hazelnut coffee drink. It was not too sweet, but warm and welcoming.

Great place to grab a cup of coffee and hang out! We had some time to kill and ended up here and it was both delicious and cozy.

This is by far the best cup of coffee I’ve ever had! The hospitality is above par as well! When my wife and I went in we were greeted by a young lady with a warm “good morning”. This may not seem like much to most people but in todays society it was like a breath of fresh air. Just being acknowledge kindly when visiting a shop really sets the tone and far too many shops don’t offer a simple hello. Needless to say we will be returning and if you want a great cup of coffee this is the spot for you!
