Stopped by for a coffee and too check the place out. The sign at the register said $1.25 for a 16oz coffee. I was charged $2.25, and told the prices on the sign were only for those who bought meals there. If that is the case, that price should be on the menu, because people who have a meal there don't come to the register. The waitress takes care of them. The people who come directly to the register are the coffee only customers, so if their price is different (which it shouldn't be), it should be the coffee only price that is listed at the register.
I feel like I was cheated and then lied to to cover it up. One thing I dislike more than anything is greedy people who take advantage of others for their gain. It was $1, but it was almost a double upcharge just because I was an out of town guest. We are planning another trip to Damascus to ride, but we will take our group to eat in a nearby town rather than go to this establishment.
The only thing this sign says about coffee with meals is that you get a ONE FREE REFILL.
I can go to IHOP and get a whole pot for the price of one coffee. These people need to stop being so greedy and take care of their customers or they won't be around very long.
Cheaters never prosper, and liars have their place in the lake of fire.

Forewarning!! If you get a latte or mocha, be sure to ask for espresso in it, as it isn't served that way! So, just walking in the door, the lady at the counter seemed un-friendly. (A comment on FB leads me to think this may be usual.) I ask how many shots are in a latte (bc some places do 1, some 2). The lady says "we dont put espresso, we use cold brew." I glance past her, confused, at the espresso machine. She says "A latte?" in a tone like I don't know what I want or what I am talking about. Except I was a barista 10+ years in the northwest and south. A latte IS espresso with milk, a cafe au lait (which they have on the menu) is brewed coffee with milk. She says she can make it how I want. Somehow the coffee is almost 6$, maybe she subbed espresso or the 1/2 pump flavor I added was 1.50 charge or some combo. Either way, more than I pay for the same at any cafe. Then the machine prompts for tips starting at $2--never seen that! It is common to give a percentage or start at $1. THE LATTE WAS GOOD! Shots poured well--that is why I gave three stars. I went back a few days later, and they were closed during business hours (no update on FB either). I would only have taken a star off for what amounts to false advertising the latte (not only can you check me on Google, this isnt even a regional feature, cafes in Abingdon make lattes with espresso.) About the service-- I have been in customer service for over 25 years and we all have days of incredible stress. No matter what, I love to show up for the guests and anyone who doesn't should do something else! No shade, there are other jobs. Friendly personality is basic requirement. I lived in Damascus for three years and it was coming back to me why I didnt drive two minutes out of my way to support a local business, rather than drive further out of my way to the Abingdon (also local) cafe. Ps. If you check my other reviews, you will see I am not a serial complainer. Usually prefer to give compliments with my time.

A review by two foodies!
The food was unbelievably good! So good that we came back again and again and everything we had was divine! We had their breakfast burrito multiple times and asked for it with chipotle sauce- delish!! Huevos Rancheros, and two different kinds of smoothies that were so yum! Also, don't miss their cinnamon rolls as they warm them up and they are probably the best we have ever had!

This place is kickass. Would highly suggest to anyone going to Damascus or living there their food and coffee is delicious, the vibe of the place is calming and inviting, and the owner is super personable.

Ordered BBQ and slaw--so good, and plenty of it!

I have lived in the area for almost a year and a half and have stopped here a couple of times. The staff is wonderful, the customers could use a reminder about distancing though. No mask and standing at the counter while I am trying to give my order and I’m wearing a mask, can I maybe get the same basic respect I’m trying to give others? Just a reminder to others, you don’t know who is high risk by looking at someone and I want to keep trying to support local business, but not at the expense of my health.

Mojo's has been my favorite food in the area ever since my AT thruhike in 2018 and the new management made me love it even more! David is a delight! There are plenty of vegetarian and pescatarian options. I had a vegetable omelet on our first day in town and the french toast sandwich the second. Both were phenomenal. Great, relaxed atmosphere. Clean bathroom. Fantastic service.

Awesome food and extremely nice owners. The tart for dessert was very yummy.

WOW! Absolutely stunned by the chef here. My husband and I came here for Valentines Day and we received a 6 course meal. Every dish was SO well balanced - each ingredient complemented the other. The steak was a bit rare (I asked for medium) but still delicious. The pairing of each ingredient took thought and skill so I’m thrilled to know that someone back there in the kitchen is able to express themselves and really get creative!
The service was so so sweet and attentive. They did an amazing job! The two girls who worked the floor on 2/15 deserve a bonus! Lastly, not only were the 2 girls that served us great but so was the rest of the staff. It can get a lil crazy when you’re having to keep up with 6 courses, but everyone was working as a team.

This place has incredible food (the BBQ Pork sandwich and burger were outstanding!), a great atmosphere (cool maps on the tables to see what you just trail rode/hiked, most likely), and nice staff. If you’re doing the Creeper and stop at Damascus, definitely eat here!
