The food was good and my first taste of Puerto Rican dishes. Be warned before you go there that the food takes a long time to prepare (ours took 50 minutes) and they do have a sign stating this. However some of us were not expecting this and were starving by the time food was ready. You can call ahead, though, and you might consider this option. I tried the fried chicken bites, yellow rice, and sweet plantain. Very tasty.

We called 30 minutes ahead to pickup our takeout order and we still had to wait 20 minutes for them to prepare our order....terrible service, but my son loved his food.
Waited much too long

We got the meal platters. Portion sizes were great. My wife got the yellow rice, fried chicken pieces, and yuca fries. I got the rice and beans, fried pork, and fried plantains (tostones).
Everything tasted great except for one issue: the food was too salty! My wife stopped eating the chicken because it was salty, and she wasn't able to enjoy the food because she filled up with rice and water.

I’m going to start by saying my friend said it reminds her of her grandmothers(puerto rican) cooking. This was my first time having this style of cooking, I will definitely be returning to try different things. The food portions are really good, I didn’t even finish it in one sitting. Thank you for the great experience!

Love this place. Ever since I came down to VA from MA where my family is, I've been craving Spanish food and I'm so glad I found this Bakery & Cafe. I can have my lunch/dinner and my desserts from here. Food is really tasty and definitely brings me back home. Would recommend to anyone!!

My first time here ! I was excited about trying this place out . I was disappointed because my rice was very hard . I had the yellow rice with pigeon peas . Everything else I got was tasteful . So I will give them another chance in hopes of softer rice

We finally made it after many weeks. We went today for lunch after church. There's a small wait due to the freshness of the food but it is so worth it. The food is so good. I can't wait to go back.

First and last time there. As puertoricans we were looking forward to some really good authentic food.
But were really disappointed. The rice definitely was missing sofrito and had no flavor. The tostones were too long in the grease and probably from the day before. The pernil was cold and had no flavor. Instead they put cilantro sauce on top of it. In PR I have never seen cilantro sauce on a pernil.
The quesitos were good though.
Truely disappointed.

My daughter and I went for breakfast today. The staff are very friendly, my ham egg and cheese sandwich was both tasty and bigger than expected. I took half of it to go. My daughter ordered a cream cheese pastry that was delicious enough that she refused to share. The prices are very reasonable, too. We'll definitely go again.
