Wow! Authentic Peurto Rican cuisine in Colonial Heights!?!? My wife and I (she's Boriqua) traveled from NJ to VSU when she spotted this restaurant. We came back for dinner and the food did not disappoint. It's hard to find flavorful ethnic food in the south. However, this restaurant/bakery breaks the trend. I had the mofongo with shrimp and some pastries for dessert.

Carne Frita, con Mofongo, and Alcapurrias, and Bacalaitos. They have many dishes, and pastries, when you order, the serving do take long to make, they are complicated dishes, so please do not be in a rush, it takes time to make these great dishes from scratch, but the wait is worth it.

The food is delish and fresh. Pastries are out of this world. Both pictures are off the daily menu, both have arroz Con Gandules and sweet plantains on the left is crispy fried chicken bites. On the right is a fried pork chop with red onions.

Very, very good! I originally hail from NYC and I was impressed with the freshness of the food and presentation. DO NOT WORRY ABOUT THE PRICE!! You get your money's worth. Portions are nice! There was love music and the restaurant was very clean. Will definately be visiting again and again......

This is the closest PuertoRican restaurant I had find since I moved from Kissimmee. The food is delicious. The bakery pastelillos de guayaba ♥️ and the quesitos ♥️. I gave 5 stars because I love the food and with that place been full of costumers the girl in the front was really nice all the time even with all the work she had. But the wait was to long, I didn’t care that much on the wait because I really wanted to eat my mofóngo.

We ordered food for our daughters first birthday. Half tray of garlic chicken, half tray of the rice with pigeon peas and a dessert tray. The price was amazing for what we got. We fed 25 people easily. Everyone was raving and multiple people had seconds and thirds...
The small dessert tray was 65 pastries. Incredible value. Many of my guests have never had PR desserts. They were devoured. I need baking lessons from here!
My husband is from a Puerto Rican part of the Bronx and this is his taste of home!

Had the rice & peas, they were perfect! Rellenos, perfect! Ham & Cheese sandwich w/ egg, perfect! French Fries, perfect! Beef empanadas, perfect! The ONLY bad part about it was the chicken & cheese empanada, consistency was GREAT, but taste wise, it was a little vinegary! Still a 9/10 easy, and WELL WORTH the wait & money.
I will be back soon!
