Sea Star Cafe

Food is fine. But service is *dismally* slow. We had 4 people ahead of us and it took 30 minutes just to order!!! They close the window after every order!?!

As a family traveling with both meat eaters and vegetarians the Sea Star Café seemed like the perfect place for us. I was reading reviews online and saw that there can be a bit of a wait so we arrived at 11:00 am (opening time). We were second in line so we only had to wait about 5 minutes for our food. I ordered the Santa Cruz (one of their vegan sandwich options) and my dad ordered the Sicilian. They sandwiches were quite large (perfect for a long day at the beach). Both were delicious however we both noticed that the bread was a bit stiff/tough as if they had been in the fridge before we got them. The staff were a bit cold which surprised me because the reviews I read prior to our visit said that everyone were very friendly. Perhaps we caught them on an off day. Regardless it wouldn't keep me from coming again on my next trip to the island. Great spot for vegans, vegetarians, and those seeking a healthier option.

Great sandwiches and vegetarian/vegan options. We ate here 2 out of 3 days on the island. All of the employees were super nice!

Walk up order window with outdoor seating available. Reasonable prices. Had the specialty sandwich of the day and the Mexicali wrap. Both were filling, fresh, and delish.

It isn't that easy to get a vegan meal on Chincoteague Island and this place has several options. The salads are always good and fresh. I've also had a couple of the vegan wraps and they are good too. They could do a better job of having 100% whole grain breads and wraps but what they do have is good. They usually have a vegan soup option as well.

Eat here. Best cold Sandwiches and ice tea(s) ever. Avoid lunch hour. Go early or later. Some prior reviewer said go to subway instead. No! Do not ever eat at a subway! Subway is an affront to hoagies and cold cuts.

The Sea Star is great. The portions are large and the food and bread are fresh.

This was a great new find on our most recent visit to Chincoteague. Very flavorful sandwich and wrap offerings, including vegan options. Large portions on a variety of breads, too. We look forward to lunches here on future visits to Chincoteague.

Best sandwich spot on the island! I have been to Sea Star Cafe, many times throughout several years and they never disappoint, fresh/great tasting ingredients, and fast friendly service (and they are veeery busy)!
I do recommend their baguette with your sandwich of choice. SSC is my place to stop for my beach time cooler lunch....

Plain and simple the BEST sandwiches on Chincoteague by far. Worth the long lines and wait times.

This the place to eat in Chicoteague. Great fresh handmade sandwiches, wraps, and salads. We loved it. Plus there's a lot of shade for comfortable outdoor dining.
