Small town coffee house, looks like a great place to eat.... but looks can be deceiving. We were told we would be waited on outside, waited 20min for someone to take our order...they never did. Finally we walk inside to order, the large man behind the counter was completely rude. We waited another 25min to get our food. The food was definitely NOT worth the wait. I would advise you to stay clear of this place, they don’t value their customers. The lack of customer service is unbelievable. If i could give them less then one star i would. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!

Was passing through. Stopped for b'fast. Lovely, comfortable cafe. Excellent, friendly service. She had a croissant with lox n cream cheese, capers, etc. I had a b'fast burrito. Both had fresh fruit on the side. Coffee was outstanding! We travel a lot and know good food, etc. This was the best breakfast in a long time! I would highly recommend it!

Annette waited on us today. We tried the clam chowder which was delicious, a turkey Reuben, a turkey wrap and a crab cake sandwich. Wonderful lunch with friendly staff. For desert we split a piece of decadent chocolate cake with half a plate full of whipped cream. Lovely staff and extra seating in the outdoor area as well as upstairs dining. We will be back!

Space is limited! That said the service is helpful, friendly and prompt. Food is tasty and in a variety. Chai tea latte was just what we needed on a cold rainy day.

Updated review in May 2018. The great taste of their food compensates for the lack of good service. The “barista “ is a guy who is super rude and needs to learn how to manage his stress. They will not sit you as you get there nor will assign you a waitress. You have to figure things out. At least this was the situation on Memorial Day Sunday. They are lucky the competition is scarce.
Overall, come in and enjoy a great breakfast. Just be warned if the above.
One of the highest points of my visit to Cape Charles at the end of September 2016 was this coffeehouse. They do not only serve coffee. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. It does not appear to be as a spacious as it is. It has a fantastic ambience and the servers are very nice and kind. Service is fast and very efficient. They have a very simple menu but everything is really delicious.
This is a must when you are in Cape Charles. It is fairly close to the beach, about a couple of blocks and there is plenty of parking right across the street.

Cape Charles Coffee House has some of the highest quality coffee I’ve had in a bottomless cup of coffee. The waitress was super friendly. Food was high quality diner-y fare and there was a reasonable assortment of vegetarian breakfast options. The place really seemed to get crazy by 9 so I’d recommend getting there early on a high season weekend if you want peace and quiet.

We went to Cape Charles Coffeehouse on our first visit to Virginia's eastern shore. It is a few doors from the Hotel Cape Charles where we were staying. We went for breakfast. I don't drink coffee so I can't comment on the taste or quality of the coffee. The tea was delicious, made from tea leaves. The belgian waffle was also very good. Hubby said the grits were very tasty. The restaurant has a really nice decor, pehaps typical of the 1920's. Service was friendly. Some of the patrons seemed to be regulars and well known by the staff. It is off season and many businesses have not opened for the season so we will enthusiastically go back for lunch/dinner. For now they are closed on Tuesdays, I am not sure if that changes during peak season. Cape Charles Coffeehouse is a must visit on the eastern shore.

The crab bisque was very rich and delicious. We had a nice lunch out on the sidewalk and it was very pleasant. Highly recommend. The waitress was so nice and very polite. Thank you for a nice visit!

ALWAYS good. Best spot for breakfast in this little town. Locally owned forever with so much charm! Great coffee and food.
