I have been frequenting the original Appomattox Baines for years and was slightly worried this place might be a letdown after that. I was so wrong! The service was great and the coffee was every bit as yummy as the coffee in APX. The atmosphere is off-beat and cosy, and there is a growing selection of places to sit, including a small outside patio. Tons of easy street and lot parking. Come to study or fuel up before crossing the mountain or hitting the highway!

Kind of a shared space with an old theater/ hall. Quaint, cute coffee shop and bookstore. Love it! Great choice of coffees, lattes, teas, etc.

i'm from out of town so i don't really know any local coffee joints around amherst, but i am so glad that i stumbled onto this place. i adore the quaint and rustic feel of the interior, and it's been perfect setting up to do homework there for a couple hours. plus, their iced coffee and bagels are great. lovely staff, lovely atmosphere, and a lovely place that all will enjoy! :))

Not easy to spot, only a neon sign at the side of the building saying coffee!
Was just a corner of a church hall. Little food on offer, we got the two bagels they had which were ok. Coffee was ok, she had to tip the coffee dispenser to fill our cups!
Server was pleasant.

Fantastic addition to Amherst. I come back home to visit every couple of years. I was very pleased to find this during my recent stay. I wasn't sure it existed at first, as it's in the old Baptist church up on the hill behind Food Lion. The church is now a community center for local businesses. I drove past it the first time, and then saw the "coffee" neon sign on the side of the building. I went here every morning for a week. The server was so friendly, and she was on top of things as a barista. The food was also great, and cheap compared to some place like Starbucks. They even have excellent quiche and I don't usually like quiche! I hope this coffee shop is hear to stay. If you're in or near the area, I strongly suggest making this a regular stop.

Very quaint coffee place inside of a church building. The Americanos are good, the bagels, bagelly, and the scones soft. It's a good place to go if your internet stops working on a workday or two (or so I've heard)...

Good coffee. Similar to Starbucks flavor. A bit pricey.

Great local coffee shop. Nice atmosphere in re-purposed history church. Great coffee.

Jon Collins

Neat shop with coffee, boos, and music.

Kass Carpenter
