Do not miss this place. Beautiful old building with updates that preserve the appeal of a 150 year old building. Breakfasts are out of sight. They serve a really outstanding coffee called "Uncommon Coffee", roasted nearby in Essex, Vermont. Starbucks only wishes they had a coffee this good. They are open for lunch, but yours truly has only had breakfast. A lot of attention to detail goes into their food preparation, everything cooked fresh. If you're really hungry, get The Rochester, and I bet you don't finish it. Service is first rate, and the wait staff is very accommodating and FAST, so your meal comes out hot. Building is meticulously clean, and provides a very relaxing atmosphere. All of this is overseen by your very capable manager, Stephanie. Rochester is a small town, and if you blink your eyes, you'll miss it.

Thank god this place exists. I was driving from Sugarbush to Killington and found this gem. Very good location and very pretty. Everything on the menu is really good. I love their hot chocolate and all the coffee options. Their soups are also delicious. Plenty of sandwich, wraps and burger options. I judge a place by their fries and their fries are 10 out of 10. The service is really good and everybody working there is very nice...I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area. They also have a store with very cute art, jewelry, scarves, maple syrup etc...by the way they are now open on mondays!

what happened people?? this place was always the "go to" when we were passing through your lovely town. but yesterday?? on the positive side, we love the porch expansion and the very friendly and professionally host but beyond that it was all down hill. very inattentive server, a very dry, small and cold omelette, overcooked cold home fries and cold unbuttered toast(i had ordered an english muffin)and of course like everything else these days it was over-priced. we will give you another chance. i still have such fond memories of the hot juicy full stuffed omellette, the large, hot and extra crispy homefries, the yummy buttered(and hot)english muffins and of course the ample portions and home town touch. YESTERDAY THERE WAS NONE OF THIS. RESCUE THE MESS BEFORE THE DISASTER GETS WORSE!

My friend and I stopped in for lunch. Our waitress took our order and we waited...and waited... an hour later, waitress comes over and asks "You haven't gotten your food?" No. She goes and checks. Comes back and tells us that our order went into the system but didn't get prepared and told us that it was being prepared and would be right out. It came out 20 minutes later and looked like it had been thrown together in a huff. Both meals were fine but it was clear they had been prepared in a rush, as we were approaching closing time. For the whole 60 minutes we waited for our food, the waitress did not check in on us once. Once we got our food, another waitress checked in on us twice, clearly to let us know that they wanted us to get going. We ordered shakes to go while we were eating just to give her something to do so she wouldn't bother us anymore, after all, it wasn't our fault we were there past closing time and I refused to shovel down food I was paying for, for staff that didn't serve us. We watched everyone else get their food and leave, people who came in well after we did. Really poor experience, I'm sorry to say. They are known for slow service, but it's usually worth it because the food is good. Not this time. Service awful and food...well rushed. And still, we left a generous tip. I used to run a cafe. If this had happened there, I would have comped, at least, the milkshakes. We didn't even get an apology.

Stopped here in the midst of a long motorcycle trip with a friend. Went in blind and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. We both got wraps and both agreed they were the most delicious wraps we ever had. The waitress was awesome and made such an incredible milkshake. I would go out of my way to stop here any time I travel through Vermont in the future.

Apparently their head chef left with no notice and they have signs up all over the restaurant that give the full name of the person and makes it feel like they are trying to run them out of town. No compassion. Super bad vibes.

Staff is very warm and welcoming. Short wait on a Sunday morning which was impressive. Food was wonderful! We love in the next town over the mountain gap and will gladly be returning for breakfast dates.
